I've tried the window xp and red link setup off your web site but mine does not pull up the same pages that your showing. When i think i've got it all done as best as i can it still says cannot install these driver and it has Finish wrote in the bottom right corner. I've went to device manager and uninstalled it many different times and when i plug the link in it shows a yellow question mark beside flash link. Then if i hit update it will show a yellow question mark beside the flashlink about center of the page and just start clocking down then it says cannot install? I don't know what else to do? I guess i could program the gyro with out the flash link but i want it to work that way i can pick the same servo i'm using and tweak the endpoints.

Thanks for any input

I GOT IT thank you God. I've been at this for two weeks on and off and just a minute ago i finally got it to work and down load the updates. When i had to browse for it i went to the C drive and found it there(i'm not sure how it got there but it was)i clicked on it and the screen let me hit the ok button. Everytime i would find it in my documents and select it the ok button would go off before i could even hit it. I just got it working on my ACER 10" computor now i'm going to try and get it to work on my 17" HP Pavilion. Now i know i will buy another Spartan.

Thanks Angelos for your help and support, and i'm sorry for bad mouthing your tech support.

I must say that this whole "drivers" thing & the "firmware" version are confusing to me. What version of firmware do I need to download?
There is no version on the barcode label on the back of the Saprtan box. Why can it be so easy for the Inertia gyro to have an inexpensive little gyro control box but the original "Spartan" has to have software downloads & manual driver installs?

Its actually very simple really - Just follow the manufacturer's instructions for the flashlink USB interface.

http://www.spartan-rc.com/products/...k/flashlink.php

You do realise that the current firmware version is visible in the Spartan Flash Link software and if you read their FAQ section you can also readout the firmware version via the on board LED in the gyro.

To download their firmware you simply download their firmware loader program and run the program while the gyro is connected to your PC and the internet.

Note that the Inertia gyro has NO provision for any form of firmware updates.

OK- so the firmware version is visible in the flashlink software, but I read several warnings about not pluggig in the flashlink until you have downloaded the drivers(BTW-manual install only for windows XP).
Soooo... How do I know which version of firmware to install when I can't plug in the flashlink to see what version I have?
Thanks

your maybe misunderstanding/misreading what you need to do so you could do it thus-

1. install your drivers for the USB lead as per spartans advice.

http://www.spartan-rc.com/products/...k/flashlink.php

2. download the firmware update tool from the website and update your gyro or read what version you have....job done.

http://www.spartan-rc.com/products/...ware_loader.zip

even if you use the newer style configuration editor you will get a warning to update your gyro if it needs it so no harm done.

cheers
