Guys,

Sorry if there are posts on this, but I coudn't quickly find any. I'd like to try a high voltage set-up in a BW Stratus, and I am not sure how to set it up so I do not burn out the components that are not rated for 7.4v.

I understand that I need to buy some HV servos, but then if I eliminate my regulator (I am currently running a Duralite in one heli and an SG Reactor in another) and run the 7.4v lipo right through the switch to the recevier, then how do I run lower voltage to the Gyro and the throttle servo? I have some 5.1v gyro "step-down" regualtors, but I have read in other posts that they are really only good for stepping down from 6.0v to 5.1v, and not all the way from 7.4v to 5.1v.

My plan would be to run either the HV8717's or the new Hitec HV servos on the cyclic, a Futaba 9252 on the throttle, a GV-1 governor and a Futaba GY611 gyro with a BLS251 servo all with a 7.4v 3000mah lipo.

Any help or guidance to a post of this is appreciated.

Thanks,

Ben

Western Robotics, WRL-TITAN for gyro and tail servo. Dimension Engining, DE-SWDJ3 for throttle servo.

Or, if you don't want to spend a fortune on over-priced servos, 2S A123 or Hyperion LiFePO4 packs are 6.6v nominal and work great with 6v rated servos.

Spektrum AR7100R is the most elegant solution for direct power without regs. Step downs for gyro and throttle are built in, along with RevLimiter.

I have the 7100's installed in all my big toy's.
Here:
http://www.spektrumrc.com/Products/...rodID=SPMAR7100

Enables connection directly to 2s lipos, and the inbuilt reg feeds the gyro/throttle servos. @5.2volts

All cyclics are fed direct 'indirectly'
