Gorn,
wow you really are great with the sticks. Nice flying, I dont know what happened to Jimbo, could be the economy.
just from your video I can see how big and beautiful Oz is, looks like you never run out of places to fly down there.

Hi Twinring
That is my good friend flying my heli while I film.
I dont have a video of me flying the QJ yet, but here is one of me flying my 700 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CPOiW6bbqU

Yeah, Oz has a lot of space compared to a lot of other countries.
The downside is you usually have to drive farther and use more fuel lol.

Good to hear from you too

Hi TR, how are things, its been very quiet on here without you and Jimbo.

Well the QJ has been crash tested.....hard lol.
I got my friend to fly it again, this time we had the HD cam ready.
Now I did warn him the tail was a bit weak ( 9257 isnt enough servo), but in the end the tail let go, and in she went.
It will be fixed soon, but will be off to a new home.
A guy I know came to watch, and was so impressed with the QJ that he offered to buy it, even after he'd seen it get smacked lol.

Twinring
Your frames are TOUGH as nails.

Damage:
Skid struts
Main shaft
Spindle
Flybar
paddles
Boom
Blades
Main shaft bearings
Tail shaft
Cracked canopy
Pitch arms

Thats all I can see so far without tearing it down for a better look.

Why would I sell it?
I prefer the feel of my Protos for the 3d that Im doing.
However, my friend prefers the QJ over the Protos.
So my selling it is no indicator that the machine is at fault, just not my flavour for the flying Im doing is all.
Another big decider is parts availability, and not much money coming in.
So having 2 500 class heli's is a bit of a waste actually.

We will see what happens anyway. It will be sold when the cash hits my wallet. Til then its staying lol.

Cheers

For the love of the hobby

I`ve been right here in Beaumont Texas. I just had to let my internet go for a few months . This economy here in Bmt, Tx is very depressed.
They cut hours at work and layed some people off . I`m just glad they did`nt let me go . I must be doing something right on the job...
I hear Iyobe, Quick of Japan, is going to discontinue making all of the QoJ helis. The econmy is hurting people world wide.

Jimbo, thats no good we will not have any spare parts if we crash, this is the second time this has happened , once when the OZ distributor went under and now (worse) the manufacturer, Oh well there is always ALIGN, if they go so will everybody else. A great pity as they are a good heli, but just never caught on,
Well good to hear your still employed, have a great Xmas and stay safe.

That sucks about QJ, but not suprising.
They did almost nothing to move with the times and make a better more modern product.
A shame really.

Wow, Jimbo, good to hear you are ok.

I didnt know that Quick was going to stop production, I often wondered what would become of them as I know for a fact hobbies are one of the first things to get cut in a recession. I know that Helicopter Hobbies already changed hands, Im wondering if they are just going to carry NOS kits and parts, they should just sell all their parts to those remaining kit owners. I havent flown in months as I dont have any lipos that are air worthy. other than that, my EX is ready to go.
