Most people wake up, drink coffee, take a shower, go to work, come home, kiss the wife, play with the kids and dogs, and go to bed.

Only to repeat the next day.

They are clueless, happy, and don't know *&(&*^ about the origins of the universe.

How, then, is it so "important" to know?

I think quantum physics is the big proof that our observation and understanding of things is fundamentally flawed.

I "prophecise" that the next big revelation in science will come by intellectual violence once the truths of quantum physics are integrated into what we think we know today.

If we can get there, that is. We may not have the brains to do it.

I propose that the lunatic is the one who instead of living life, ponders the origins of the universe. And then, with complete honesty to himself, thinks that he can know for certain how it all happened. He does this using a biological computer, the brain, that was built only for human survival.

The human eye only sees a tiny portion of the radiomagnetic spectrum. We hear and smell little compared to other animals. Our very senses are not keen enough to perceive all that exists out there.

Why then assume that the computing power of the brain WOULD be keen enough to perceive, through data crunching, something as huge as this universe? Talk about lunacy!

I doubt that you'll ever change, but for the rest of you who believe in evolutionary origins, please take note that after 40+ pages of discussion and repeated requests for a coherent explanation how life began, Gimbalfan has not been able to produce any scientific evidence in his own defense. There's a limit to how much insult and abuse I'm willing to endure. If you're a real scientist than show us the evidence - a viable description of how life began printed in a scientific journal along with the description of how it's been verified in a lab. Bonafide scientists don't have to reduce themselves to insults and personal attacks on other's beliefs, they produce evidence to substabtiate their claims. Until you do, I'll sign off here. steve.

Well said Steve. Gimby can provide you with a chart that he CLAIMS to have researched and designed himself. But, all it shows is the beginning of the earth and moon 4.5 million years ago and the evolution of life from then. Nice chart and really kind of interesting. But, it does not include scientific facts to back it up. Making statements about origins and scientific fact are 2 seperate issues entirely.

Both evolution & creation are both impossible to prove conclusively. Seems at this time both are founded on faith with some evidence available for both sides. An unending debate with no winners for either side.

Of course, the above makes me a fable thumper I suppose.

I don't think it's as much a matter of proving how the world began.
The point is that it's unlikely if not impossible that one god or person or whatever started it all.

If the evidence of evolution is lacking then that would make any evidence of a god non-exsistant.

To compare the tangible evidence between the two thoeries is a joke.

We have seen countless skeletal remains of creatures ALMOST certain to be human.We can see the evolution of the species in the changes in their form.

What I have never seen is physical evidence of a god.
Everything to do with religion,and I mean everything,is hearsay.

Faith can only be stretched so far before you have to dig in and deal with the world you have and stop worrying about one that might be.One that you have to litterally die to prove.And then after death,the proof is gone.

I realize that this argument basicly makes god real.
Insomuch as people believe in god and discuss and study the idea,god is real.But god is no more tangible than darkness,cold or evil.

At the same time we have the radical Muslims that praise Allah, at the same time perpretating cold dark evil by the desire to kill the infedels. That's 2 opposing, action and faith, they tie together.

That's not to speak badly about the millions of peace loving Muslims. Only the radical ones praise allah and make war on everyone else. The last ones to pull that crapola. As long as we can keep the pressure on them relentlessly, they might get tired of dying some day. Hopefully, there will be no one to take thier place.

and maybe some people need a crutch to get through,or a way to ease a bad conscience perhaps.Some no doubt need to think there is something better.A god should not forgive someone that commits multiple bad acts if they think they will always be forgiven using god as an excuse no matter what they do.There are certain things that should never be forgiven.
