Gimbal has valid points in his last post.

So can any Christian give an honest answer as to why so many Christian priests molested so many children over so many years? What good did the teachings of Christ do to these men if they devoted their lives to the Church(an apparent honourable proffesion) and turn into some of the lowest scum society can produce. Were they all born this way or was it the unatural repression of sexuality(a religious doctrine) drive them to their crimes? And remember, these crimes were not isolated, they were widespread through churchs and Christian schools across the world.

I have a friend who grew up in the world of organised crime. Drugs, weapons, violence and even murder were a part of his "normal" upbringing. He tells me that from the time he was eight, when he became aware that his life was not ordinary like that of his school friends he wanted to escape from it. He knew his family were criminals and wanted nothing to do with that life. There was no influence from a church to give him this insight. He left his parents home at the age of 15 and now is an honest, contributing member of society with what a christian would conceive as having excellent morals and all without any help from the church. And this happened in a largley athiest population.
Is it because social morals developed long before religious morals did. Perhaps tens of thousands of years(pre-dating organised religion) of living in social groups taught humanity that it needed these good social structures and boundries to operate sucessfully. It is through anthropology(scientific principles in action) that can lead to these conclusions.

Science can teach us much about the natural human condition. Not just about the way the universe works but how humanity has evolved over eons of time to be the social animal we are today.

What science has over religion is the ability to continuously revaluate its findings on any given subject. Just because a conclusion may be reached on one occasion, it can be updated when new information is tabled leading to further discoveries. The church on the other hand finds it very difficult to progress in modern society because it is tied down by an ancient book that disallows true freedom of thought and discovery.

There's a joke or two there involving a wig and some makeup, but pedophile priests don't usually go for that sort of thing -- they're 'alternatively' inclined.

100% wrong. Gods exist only between the ears of the blissfully misinformed.

I'm surprised at you, Mike. All you can manage here now is a weak grasping of hollow straws.

I also think science is the study of what God created, unless of course you believe that everything just creates itself.

Would you stone your daughters to death if they slept with their boyfriends?

Be careful how you answer.

To say "No" will diminish your 'value' in your malevolent god's eyes -- and therefore your chances of being welcomed into your imaginary heaven.

And since 'he's' everywhere, you can be sure 'he's' reading these threads.

I also believe that science is a study of God's creation.

If I knew that was truly God's direction then the answer is Yes

I would also stone you to death if directed by God and I would expect the same from you if that was really God's direction.

Thanks for clarifying your positions for everyone who's reading this thread.

As if we ever wondered.

Since your book of fables already directs that you do so, ya better 1st thing Monday have an MD check the 'status' of your daughter's... well you know.

And would you mind youtubing the ensuing daughter-stoning events? Thanks.
