Please
I am the GOD of this thread and I will decide who gets the last word when I am good and ready...

That is, unless Mark decides before I do!

But, you asked nicely. So, maybe...

God exists to a Christian. God does not exist to a non-believer. So what is the problem? Why should any body tell any body what to believe.
husky385 said this on the very first page of this thread. You could have closed it right then and saved everyone a whole heap of time.

Of course, it has been interesting to say the least.

For the most part, they are not telling anyone what to believe. They are just telling them they are delusional. That in itself is delusional.

That's what I would expect a delusional man to think .

Usually, delusional people think other people are delusional as well.

Man evolved to live in groups of a few hundred in a tribal society, you may not like that, but it's the truth. We got to our global society in a blink of geological time, which means that we haven't shaken off this tendency. This produces a time lagging effect on our behaviour patterns - the evidence is all around you if you care to look. - Synodontis
Synodontis has had his shnozz between the pages of at least one excellent anthropology text, and has paid admirable attention to the lessons therein.

His statements are 100% correct -- and are excellent examples of useful info from which to launch oneself into an enlightening education aimed at learning actual facts (instead of engaging in more stupid guesswork) about who we are and why we do some of the foolish, and also brilliant, things humans do.

On the Football Field Timeline of Earth's 4.6 billion year existence, modern humans (homo sapiens) have been around barely a 7th of an inch (190,000 years) -- 'a blink of geological time' indeed. As a species, we're much like a toddler who still soils its diapers cuz it hasn't yet learned the value of toilets.

Hey man. You are the one that believes you are still wearing diapers. Your statement. Not mine.

I'll just rub your face in them a bit.

I happen to believe we are a bit more advanced than that.

Have you ever even once in your life been willing to focus on the Big Picture?

Doubtful. Your type can't be bothered.

At moments of introspection, yes.

But, they are fleeting moments as my life must go on to more worthwhile things for myself and those closest to me.

There you have it, folks -- the ugliness of a selfish mind -- in a NUT shell.
Deet will now further cement our understanding of his demeanor right here.

And, there you have it folks. The man believes he is still in diapers in need of potty training.

I think he hit the nail on the head.

major point of the main argument

I don't care for one second whether God exists or not. That's a rather moronic question. It's moronic in the sense that it means man's imagination is free to construct anything he wants and be beyond reproach because it's a "faith". For all we know, God could have started it all and then disappeared and we'd all be none the wiser. The concept of God and whether he exists is not a strictly well defined question.

The question of God's existence cannot be resolved by science or open debate, and by the construct of faith this also means that science cannot in anyway interfere with anyone's faith. But most faiths seems to be interefering with science where they shouldn't. And like my islanders story, you better question your faith when science shows some of it's claims to be wrong.

Before I got into argument with MPA I stated that the existence of God can never be resolved by science or open debate - he clearly didn't read it. I stated further that Darwin never set out to disprove God, he just found evidence in his life to make his faith untenable with what he saw in the natural world.

I find it amazingly stupid that the majority of the religious can't see what is really going on. Think about it: What kind of religions were there before the major ones we have now? We should get our archeologists out to do extensive digging up and unravelling things and we'd be surprised at the results. What started all this silliness off was some groups of people writing a text and it exploded like a viral campaign on the internet. The concept of heaven and hell was never heard of very long ago, and yet all of a sudden we know it now? How convenient!!! Or rather how moronic.

Now with all this silliness going on, and the religious can argue about their moronic beliefs till the end of time, it doesn't change one thing - and that one major thing is staring all of you in the face:

Our past is Darwinian. Our present is Darwinian. And alas, tragically (or is that inevitably), our future is also Darwinian.

Those of you who know, know. Those who don't, argue. There's nothing at all to argue about, it's NOT negotiable. It's the fact of reality. The claims above do not say that there is a God or not - not their business. It tells you what the natural world is about and what it's not about (and we are part of it whether we like it or not).
