Plus as oldfart showed above, you need to look at it over the long term. If you fly a lot, you will re-coop that money in fuel savings rather quickly. Gasoline engines are pretty tough and will last a long time if you take care of them.

650$ for the kit
350 for engine
150 for the pipe
~100 $ to mod engine
-------
1250$ US
it will be more for us Canadians
You forgot the $475 for the vstabi unit and $120 for the FBL head and let's not even think about what it will cost to eliminate some of the plastic parts and replace with CNC Alu.

Just joking around Blade_Master1...

Maybe this thing flys great without engine mods. Like you said, and I agree. Wait until the reports roll in.

This heli is going to need a lot of exposure. By that I mean, reviews and reports from end users. I hope Century has a plan to make that happen. This heli has a lot of potential. Right now, there are not enough of them "in the wild", hopefully that will change soon.

Excellent! Thanks sparx!

It sounds like this heli has huge potential. And it just so happens, I have a spare V4.0 vstabi unit.

Billme please let us know why the gear ratio is so low at 6.1??

Since the G20 has a shorter stroke, and produces more RPM, than G231 why not using something about 7.0??

stated in another thread that this machine had a 13 tooth pinion, thats wrong it is 14 with a 84 tooth main
Quoted from a thread in the Gasser forums. That is a gear ratio of 6:1. So if you want to run a Head Speed of 2000rpm, you would be spinning the engine at 12,000rpm.

If you used a gear ratio of 7:1, you would be at 14,000 rpm. I would not want the G20 to be running that high of an rpm IMO.

I think that 6:1 is a pretty good ratio considering that Billme has stated he has had the G20 running at over 13,000rpm with no issues. You could run 2150rpm at the head and still be below the rpm that Billme has run.

I hope they put out some videos of this thing pretty soon. I think there are a lot of people waiting to push the "buy button" until they see some videos of this thing flying. Would be nice to see some 3D action, not necessarily "Hard, Crack", and some "big" flying.

I'll go even one step further. I would like to see videos of it flying

1. Completely Stock with Box muffler
2. Completely Stock with Tuned Pipe
3. Completely Stock with Tuned pipe and hanson modified engine ( I know bill has one of these engine )

Going even further, I would like to see some Flybarless Flying done with it as well .

I'd like to see in the videos...

1. The hardest 3D is will do
2. Smooth 3D
3. Big loops and aeros

I am not picky

hey sparx
if mine ever gets here i will try and oblige some of your request.hopefully i will have it in time to fly it next weekend,I ordered the tuned muffler for it, but was thinking of breaking in the motor on the weed eater muffler just for kicks, that way when i put the 135.00 muffler on it i will apreciate every pennies worth
I'm not much of a hard 3D pilot but i do like to fly big and fast and smooth( for the most part)some times i get a wild hair and tear it up.
I'm so anxious to get it and get it in the air that i ordered an NX50 to occupie me till it gets here.(built it last night)now what do i do for ther next 4 or 5 days.
not to change the subject but I was very impressed with the nx 50,haveing built close to 30 helis over the last feew years(12 of them being century's,well 13 now.)compared to my old hawk pros and kinetic 50's and even my ravens, the attention to detail was much improved, lots of nice touches.I really like how sturdy the lower frame assembley is, the motor has it's own little fort knox.so after seing this i am even more excited to tear into the totally new desighn G20.as for flying it stk other wise, i may install one of my cnc headblocks from one of my ravens, i see the g20 uses the same old part plast part cnc headblock, every one of my ravens had that crack(from crashes)and besides the full cnc headblock gives a much greater flybar movment witch translates into some sick rotation speeds at 2100 2200 headspeed.I installed one of the cnc headblocks on my nx last night as well along with cnc tail grips, slider, and metal gears.
(one of my ravens is looking pretty naked right about now)

Waiting for the PRO version here, come on Century where are the all metal head and tail rotor.

Does the .50 size all metal rotor head upgrade will fit in G20?

What is the difference between the LT and HD rotor head?

thanks

yes

What is the difference between the LT and HD rotor head?
HD is from the predator
LT is from the Raven and has a thicker spindle

Guys, I'm sorry for not being availible...A good friend and my machinest died in front of me with a massive heart attact this week...

I'm kinda stunned right now...I had to put the helis up for a just a little while so I can help with this tragic event, plus get my bearings straight...

To answer one of the questions..I will have a 6.9 ratio on Radical with the Hanson...It has a 90 tooth main gear...There will be a 13 tooth pinion also with the 84 main for a 6.4 ratio...
To run with the stock muffler, just go to Ace hardware, and buy copper 90 fitting and braze it to the tailpipe of the muffler to deflect away from the gas tank..

Thanks for being patient

Bill

Bill,

Again, wanted to offer my condolences. Sorry to hear about that.

For the G20s gear ratios... are there going to be options? One guy stated that he got his kit with a 14T pinion and a 84T main gear. You are saying that there will be a 13T pinion with 84T main. What is going to be in the stock kit?

Thanks again for taking the time to come on InsideHeli with us. We really enjoyed talking with you.

hey Billme
with the larger feather spindle will the cnc upgrade center hub for the raven fit?If not maybye just drill it out?
I really like that hub on my ravens, gives it more flybar travel and seams to rotate faster.
