Aha!
Dweeb,
The new schedule is doable. There's a couple of things I'm not crazy about but all of it is doable. Cliff and Daniel both had some awesome looking maneuvers. I got through them all but some were UGLY!! I had a great time and found I was making a couple of mistakes so the weekend was really worthwhile for me. You should have come down.

Has anyone done a good looking cuban with flips? If so what is the trick?

Schedule P...
Dwight,
We stuck with working through Schedule P, never tried any of D. I hadn't really flown any of P before I got there... haven't flown much since the SC contest myself.

D has issues, the Cuban with flip can't be done with any grace in my opinion. To be honest, I'm really disappointed in what was selected for D... it's gonna be ugly if you ask me.

Wish you had come down, we had a lot of fun in spite of the conditions!

First I want to thank the Huntsville club for giving up a weekend for this Funtest. I have not been that cold while flying models since I lived in New York!

Without some local hospitality (including coffee, heat, windbreakers...; it would have been unbearable).

Dwight, we missed you. Fortunately none was watching but I played a little with one or two of the "D" maneuvers. Most people probably thought I lost a link but I was actually attempting an eight with flip. It probably would have looked better if I had actually lost a link!

I really am looking froward to seeing what this maneuver should really look like because I cannot see it (even in my mind) yet.

Thanks again HHH !

Funtest Pictures!
Finally getting around to post some pictures of our event last month. Sorry for the delay.

Thanks to everyone for traveling in support the event and enduring the frigid cold with us locals. Special thanks to Troy for getting the grass cut between the rains and to Tommy for bringing his ultimate tailgate/ heli workshop, heaters, and tarps. I don't think we would have lasted very long without them. Also, a thanks to Bill for taking pictures and video.

Look forward to a full-fledged contest in the Spring. A date will be posted soon. Until then, it's already building season here in Huntsville. Winter is here. Cold and rainy

Frost
It was a bit cool in Huntsville but the motors made AMAZING power at that temp. I am really struggling with "D" schedule. And I thought "P" was bad.........
In the pictures, notice how little smoke my model was producing in hover. Amazing huh.
