so i was out flying the other day checking out some new tail blades and vbar settings and forgot to switch to idle 1. I went to do a stationary flip and it powerd down. I was about 50 feet high and by the time i realized what happen i had lost some rotor speed so i autoed the best i could and then at about 8ft high the blades stopped and it dropped straight onto the skids. mostly just skids, mainshaft, feathering shaft but i learned a good lesson, the spoolup on the hacker esc happens very slowly, unlike the castle esc....\

Also, i when i replaced the feathering shaft i noticed it was aluminum. besisdes weight savings is there any advantage to using the aluminum feathering shaft over the steel?

Thats why on all of my helis I set my normal mode throttle curve so low(also linea from piont 2) that it can just take off thus forcing me to flip to Idle 1.....

I am glad its not only me. I have done the exact same thing more than once, ive switched from Futaba to JR TX. The switch`s are on the opposite sides, i am allways hitting the wrong switchs mid flight.
For me i allways end up hitting hold when it should of been idelup.
It is not just hacker that does this, the castle HV85 does the eact same thing, and i have set max custom spool up 10, via the usb and unless its quite high to start with the rotor head only just start spooling up by the time its nearly on the ground.
I think you will find most ESC`s with soft start enabled will be the same.

On the electrics I've had including the Logo 400 I have now I don't even have a "normal" throttle curve. If the esc has a good soft start and governor I set the throttle curve flat and I just get three choices of headspeed.
