as a matter of fact...
they all should go and we should start over with new!
Democrats, Republicans or Independents doesn't matter...if they hold a federal position....they need to go.....
I agree 100%, They all should go. I say we put members of Congress in their seats the same way someone ends up on a Jury in this country, RANDOM.......

If we can allow a Jury to send someone to the Electric Chair, we can damn sure trust they will do a better job than the clowns in Washington DC

Agreed also to the point of voting out ALL incumbents. Both sides. Its time we gave them a CHANGE and put them ALL out of work to the employment office. Same thats happened to way to many Americans at no fault of their own and ALL fault belonging to Washington DC and the boob politicians there.

Thats my plan for 2010. I'm stickin to it.

It's way, way overdue. Well at least we'll be light one Kennedy next time around!!!
Of course, just wait. I'm sure Kerry or someone of his like will smooth on in there for a repeat performance.

Isn't the biggest problem obvious??

What motivates politicians to do anything? Re-election! They want the jobs for LIFE, no?? And their constituents want goodies from Washington!! So what to the politicians do, who want to be re-elected?? DUH!!

Easy solution: Constitutional Term Limits for Federal Office

Remove the motivation for lifetime tenure and I'd bet the majority of professional politicians would have a less self-centered view of things.

As in: "I spend 75% of my time raising $$$ for re-election"

agreed, That's exactly what I was trying to say. It would be like you being on the board of directors and voting on whether to vote in a new board. Hmmmm.....guess which way I'd vote?? Now the constitutional thing, great. How does that get enacted?? Once again, has to be done or at least initiated by the scumbags. Guess what, won't happen. I am THE biggest person for term limits. just don't see how we're ever gonna get that passed. ONLY WAY IS TO VOTE THEM OUT!!

Problem is that like 80% of us are just too damned apathetic. AND....most people get all of their news from the same two or three places and have not a clue as to whats being done to us right now as we speak. I don't know how you get people to wake up and care, if I knew, I'd be out there banging a drum.

Thats all fine and dandy. But, term limits will never happen in Washington DC for obvious reasons.

It must be handled on the local level in each state. Its been tried and never seems to make it. Not sure of all the reasons why although now seems to be a good time to push hard for it.

the only way is a massive, co-ordinated national effort (bi-partisan BTW) that will inspire people to first of all actually vote, and second of all, vote out the incumbent. If you can't do that because you would be crossing a party line, well then you had better get involved in your partie's primaries and do the same thing - vote out the incumbent. It's a shame in a way, because I'm sure we would lose a couple actually decent people in office, but I think you truly have to just vote out EVERY single one regardless, as painful as it may be.
We've never done it before. Time for a change. If I had money, I would stand up and take the bullet, because there will be bullets.
Powerful people and their money we're messing with here. Generational power and money.

And, they can be put of of work. Same as they have done to the American people by their incompetence. They need a message badly and new people need to come in. It may not be the only solution we have for them. But, its a beginning. We may even have to do it again to sink it in. So be it.

I think that there is enough concern out there to make the 2010 elections a real eye opener for congress.
We need a turnover in congress to get it back on track and that means getting rid of all of the long time cancers that have been ruining our country, like Barney Frank and Pelosi.

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

no argument here. I was singing this song 25 years ago. I didn't vote in 08 because I didn't care for either ticket. I won't make that mistake again I promise. What's needed is a grass roots organization that can spread across the country as one united force. Just have to find somebody to kick start it.

Its already started. Its called Tea Parties and participation at the town hall meetings all over America. Fox News is basically the only one covering these events.

There is a big Tea Party planned in Washington DC on Sept 11th.

I would like to be in DC on the 11th for the Tea Party. Being one of the handful of people in this country who are currently between employers I do have the time to go, but the finances are a bit tight.
