Ok so we moved to a house with a tomato garden and have them coming out our ears. So I decided to make salsa this evening. I was not told till after making it you are should wear gloves when cutting jalapenos. My hands are burning so bad I can barely type this post. Thus far I have washed my hands several times, put them in milk, rubbed them with vodka and now have an ice bag on them. Any other suggestions. PLEASE HELP ME!!! I have never know any pain this bad.

You've got the right ingredients but the wrong usage. Put the vodka -- all of it -- into a glass along with the ice and drink up.

Then Lather, Rinse & Repeat as needed 'til the pain subsides.

huh.

sorry about the pain.

i have heard that you should wear gloves, but I always thought that was silly cause after cutting jalapenos I usually lick my fingers and then eat them all up. Those gloves would just get in the way.

I don't have any rubbing alcohol that is why i tried the vodka. Dont worry Gimbal I have been drinking tequila which has not made a difference either. I have seen on some website people suggest lemon juice. I don't have any of that either so i tried lime juice.. didn't wrk.

A far better choice of anesthetic/analgesic under the circumstances, IMO.

I'll suggest you increase the dosage. Or the frequency.

And take a couple aspirin. Since you've had some alcohol (and likely having more), avoid both ibuprofen and acetaminophen.

Oh my...I had this happen two years ago. I cut about ten jalepenos without gloves (didn't know I should wear em!)...and I was miserable for DAYS AND DAYS!!!!

Don't touch your groin area either let alone eyes, mouth etc...

One thing I heard after my ordeal was Kaopectate, or Milk of Magnesia...something like that is supposed to help.

Sorry to hear this! It sucks, I know man, been there.

Milk. Seriously. It is a well known remedy.

I had an incident a few years ago where my balls came in contact with some pretty intense hot sauce (similar to Dave's Insanity Sauce).
Its a long story.
I found relief by dipping them in a bowl of milk.

The milk was really cold and very uncomfortable, yet at the same time very soothing. Imagine that.
