I got well known problem with DX7. After switching it on it says: "Backup error". Looking through Internet, looks like there is no otherway to restore it, other then to send to Horizon. And it will take quite a while of time.

Advises?

Sorry for your DX7 problem. I sent my DX7 into Horizon Hobby a few weeks ago for diagnosis and repair. Horizon indicated that it would take up to four weeks to get my DX7 back. However, Horizon repaired (no charge) my DX7 and had it back to me in two weeks.

yeah that sucks.I had to send in my T6EX before, but i waited till as late in the season as i could,it was not as serious an issue as yours..but do what I did,hit the sim hard so when it gets back, you will be ready.you wont lose any muscle memory and maybe get some new manuvers ready

Well, SIM is not dead. I found that I have old Tx from CX2. Using channel 5 to switch on/off engine and using governor, SIM is alive.

Also, I found that my 4#3 also flies....for about 30 seconds on battery which I checked. I have two batteries. Waiting for charging second battery.

Sorry Heli KV Its even worse when you can't fly---it makes you want to fly even more. I guess Sim time and a Walkera is better than nothing. If I had an extra DX7 laying around, I'd ship it up to ya

ouch, makes me kinda rethink my conversion of all my stuff to the DX7.
I may just keep some stuff on my futaba 8U so if my dX7 dies, I can still fly helicopters and not just planks.

Thanks Doug! Actually about DX7 failure. It was all my fault. DX7 honestly warned me way before that it is not happy, but I just ignored it's crying, because it was Ok before, I made bench testing, bla-bla.
Anyway, I got a plan, we'll see how it works.

On a positive, I restored my 4#3, tuned it - nice heli, hands free (well as other helis) hovering, not so bad. Took a look around and found 4G6 - CP heli of size of 4G3 but with TT driven tail and no tail motor! People already made some video of it - it is amazing. The negative - it requires separate Walkera Tx of DX7 class, but this Tx is suitable for all Walkera models. They created their own world. And again to be beta tester for Walkera....No, I am not buying it now, but looks like it can be not bad for the winter time.
