It was built from some model magazine plans. Picked one up in a Hobby shop in the mid-late 70's that someone had built.Used gears and belts from a company called 'Stock Drive Products'. The rest of the parts were home made... Easily identifiable by the .15=.25 motor mounted on the nose of the machine facing up. Had belt drive to main rotor...fixed pitch... Long gone !

I remember seeing that one ... never saw one up close or it fly , but looked kind of cute... would be nice to see one again ... looking for one or plans ????
Stock drive products is still in business ,,, get bearings and belts from them all the time .
If you can find the plans ,,,should be easy to build with all the modern stuff that you could mix in with it now .

There is a company in Germany that is reproducing the schluter heli baby and that would give you some better made head parts ,,,etc.

Wish you the best of luck and welcome to the vintage side and keep us updated if you do get one .

Don't recall a "Grasshopper", but are you thinking of Dave Keats' Polecat?

...Could have been a 'Polecat....

Had a Dubro Hughes 300 at the same time as this. The homebuilt was my second copter. Purchasd from a hobby shop near Melbourne, FL. for around $75. Did actually get it in the air a few times.....had more power than the Hughes with O.& R. Engine and at least it didn't eat main bevel gears like my Hughes was prone to do. Never could have built one of these...I can barely drill a straight hole with a drill press !!!
