I know this topic has been covered but while searching the forum, I didn't find exactly what I was looking for.

I am purchasing a new heli and I was wondering if you could put anything you want in it, what would it be. I have never purchased a new heli, only used, so I don't know exactly where to start!!

Here is what I am thinking so far. All of the product will be purchased from Ron Lunds shop. The kit comes with a governor, 2-in-1, motor, etc...

Trex 600 NSP
Gy 502 with 9254 tail servo
Ar 7000r with the 8717 package
2s 2200 mAh Lipo with 6v regulator

Any suggestions, comments, concerns?

Get 2 of those 2200 Mah lipos and you're in business. I would stick with namebrand, since you only really need 2. Fromeco Arizona Reg, the SG ReactorX, and the Perfect regulator would all be a fine choice for your application. Other than that, you got a solid setup.

dont waste your money on 8717s. get the ar7100r and run align DS610 Servos on 8 volt. Also the 9254 is a good tail servo, spend the extra few bucks on a 9256 which is a better servo, or the brand new align DS650 which is probably going to be rated the best tail servo out in the next few weeks. for the bling factor since your buying a NSP, get the metal elevator lever and the couple of metal tail pieces they make. Also get a bubbleless clunk, good fuel line, some screw in canopy mounts and thats about it

Heres some example pics of my old NSP

+1 on the Align servos, but I would go with the 620s all around....plenty of torque for that heli and they are FAST.

that 650 servo is the fastest thing I have seen yet, and I wouldnt mind trying them after people put them through the paces. I will still get JR servos for cyclic myself, align is good but they dont always use the best stuff.

I assume you mean a GY520 gyro not the 502. The 502 is old and virtually impossible to get any more.

The Align gov is OK at best. It holds pretty well but lets the engine overspeed a bit when you unload it quickly. There are a lot of other choices out there. Personally I like the Model Avionics stuff.

+1 AzHyper,im running the Model Avionics Revmax with the Spektrum backplate sensor and love it.Also the Align DS610's are awesome,im running mine with a 5.1V duralite Reg and there very snappy. They have to be sick at 8V cause thats what alot of people are running them at,there .7 or .8 for speed and 166OZ of torque .I just got my Gov (Revmax) on 1 week ago so the first video is with the DS610's at 5.1V and no gov,the 2nd video (no cam guy ) is with the Revmax and DS610's.Right now shes running rich with a 1900 rpm head speed and I love it.The JR G770 3D/JR DS8900 is a good tail setup too, just tossing some other options out there .Cant wait to have someone record me with the Gov on cause there no overspeeding or bogging, just nice smooth power through the whole flight .

So you can use the 620's on the cyclic? I thought those were tail servos only!!

Thanks for the info on the align governor. I will look into the model avionics stuff.

What is a switchglo? is that like the align 2-in-1?

See, I have a lot to learn!! I should have purchased new when I started flying a year and a half ago!!

Thanks for the suggestions!! Keep them coming. I am ordering either Tuesday or Wednesday.

I think what u need is the performance things ie:

1. Metal fan

2. Good Governer (Multi Gov Pro)

3. Hatori Pipe (#522) align pipe mean to be has baffle issue, but if u have a the pipe in hand just use it until u have the issue.

4. Quick UK Swash and Wash Out Base

5. Align Servo 610/620/650

6. Gyro Futaba 611/ Spartan/ Mini G/ Inertia + Futaba BLS 251

7. Quick UK servo Roller Horn (Align servo are using Futaba Roller)

8. Header Tank

9. Blade and Paddle ( Curtis Youngblood SB and Super Stubz)

10. Is 2048 resolution Transmitter ie: DX7SE/ Futaba 9 and above/ Jr DSX9 and above/ Hitec Aurora 9/ Airtronic

11. A Good Simulator Practice before u fly and crash ur Heli

Cheers

The DS610's are what ya want for cyclic if you go with the align servos, they have more torque and thats where its at.The DS620 is like you said,a tail servo. It has more speed but less torque which will make the heli "slower" in the air. Some people think its the speed of the servo that makes it fast on cyclics when its the torque, strong servo for cyclic and fast servo for the tail.

actually we swapped my 610s on 8 volt for 620s on 8 volt on my 600 FBL and it had waaay quicker cyclic so thats a little inaccurate because the torque of the 620s is plenty. Im running 5 620s in the bird. 3 on cyclic, one on throttle and one on tail and everythings on 8 volt except the tail and it flys unreal.

Dont get an align 2-1 since your getting the AR7100R receiver which already is a voltage regulator. The switch glow is a stand alone unit for onboard glow igniting.

As far as the governor, don't buy one as your AR7100R already is a rev limiter.

The AR7100R is awesome because its onboard voltage regulator, onboard rev limeter, and just an awesome receiver
