I've been having a rediculous number of cold callers lately and have responded in numerous ways from ignoring or having abstract discussions or "i'm in a meeting" or pretending to being completely mentally retarded . What's your preferred response ?

Have you no 'Do Not Call' list in GB?

Here we put our numbers on the list. If telemarketers call someone on the list they can be fined around $1k per incident. Mine have dropped to nearly zero.

yes but it's not worked so far, plus it's not so enteraining.
I wish it were so simple to mute annoying neighbours. This morning, Miss Gobsh!te next door was really going at her kids with complete disregard for any degree of social compliance - for me a very depressing start to the day. I passed and screamed "words" but she was completely negligent. I don't advocate violence but a Bazzuka would have been most welcome.

B-bye

If it's a woman I say "what are you wearing right now" in a grisled voice; if it's a man "say what are you wearing right now"

Just keep saying hello like you can't hear them. Its amazing how long they stay on the line trying to get through.

Preach the word of Jesus and God's loving power. That's if you got the time to have fun. Who want to hang up on the God's Love.

I have had alot of fun with this topic. But only do it when I need to get entertained.

I would ask them who they wanted to speak to. Then I would say, hang on, I'll get him for you. Then I'd shout out "Peter, phone call for you" and then say, he's just coming and put the phone down and watch tv until they hung up. If I really wanted drag it out, I keep on picking up the phone and say he'll be right there. Nothing like wasting as much of their time as possible.

Here in the U.S. we are on two different do not call lists and they still call daily. Usually I just hang up on them.

They usually ask for someone by name.
. I tell them I they are not in and will look for them, put the phone down and leave it. This costs them money and and it represents a little victory.
Another one is to tell them I have terminal diarhoea and make loud fart noises and groaning. One woman told me I was a disgusting little boy and my parents should be ashamed of me.

Another one is to keep answering "half past two", like some old codger all the time. A woman [again] went barmy and kept saying "why do you keep saying half past two"? "Half past two" I replied. She rang off.

I was on the no call list. Still got a ton of calls. Tried hanging up if there wasn't anyone on the line at first, not answering the phone if i didn't recognize caller ID... Tried asking them to remove me from their list. I ended up getting rid of my phone, switched to cellphone only. Seemed nothing short of that would do the trick.

I'd usely just record one of these on my awsering machine, if I did not like what I saw on the caller ID I'd let the machine take care of them. Everytime they would call this is what they would get. I'd set and laugh my butt off, I'd quickly get a dail tone.
