Today I took my n9,t700 and sdx out around 10am, feeling good, did my flight checks on all helis . Took my n9 up first put the perfect regulator in it, tested out great, I like this regulator better than my arizona reg, the bls451s felt wickly nice.
T700 is just nasty with the hz/outrage pipe pulls forever ,reminds me of my r1, I just got and kept maneuveres about 1 foot from the deck and pull up at will.
Sdx has been great, usually I fly with 620s but I have set of tst 600 I wanted to try out. I never have luck with any 600 blades. Well, it happened, just when I was ready to go, someone walk up and asked the usual questions, how much, how fast, how long you've been flying?
I answered them while flying for about half way thru the tank, all this time not realizing I didn't hit idle up. So as I did a hi speed fly by from 300 ft , as it appraoch me from the right passing by I rolled inverted, I heard the engine lose rpm , gave more negative loss more power, in that instant realized my stupidity. Now at under 3ft and 20 yards away
I was done, I did think about hitting idle up but decided that would increase damage.
The damage, blades, 1 main grip, boom, flybar, horizontal carbon fin and tuff struts, that's what I get for bragging about them.
Its been over 2 yrs since I crashed, not bad I guess.

2 things... don't talk to anyone while flying and set your normal mode rpm very low, so even if your destracted, you'll hopefully realize by the low sound of your hs that your in normal. I see alot of guys set there normal mode rpm too close to there idle up rpm. If its that close, its very hard to hear the difference.

sorry for your SDX crash, get that beast up and flying!

In normal ill set my throttle curve to 65% max, that will remind me what I'm in, great idea!!!

Sorry for your crash.

Happened to me before on my Sceadu evo. That's why with my SDX (used mainly for 3D/inverted), I only have normal mode, idle-up and hold.
