Sorry if this has been addressed before. I've just crashed my Trex-600E on the ground because the gyro caused the heli spinning when I spooled up. But I thought I got this correct.

The way it is now: when I move the nose of the heli to the left, I watch tour tail servo arm, it moves clockwise.

When move the rudder stick to the left left on the TX, the tail servo moves clockwise. I also verified this when the heli slightly spins up, that the nose moves the way I want.

Any help please, much appreciated.

O.K. try this
Stand at the tail of the bird, move the stick left, the slider should move right, then still at the tail punch the tail rotor shaft between the slider and the rotor hub, the move your hand to the right in a quick motion, it should pinch your fingers (not hard)
That’s it !
Good luck my friend !

Dimmit..I can stop this anytime I want..no..really I can

I dunno.. I always just look at the trailing edge of the tail blades to tell whether things are going the right direction or not.

If you move the tail right, the trailing edge should also move right/out to compensate. Move left, trailing edge of tailblades move left.

Move the rudder stick right, trailing edge moves right, left, trailing edge moves left.

And that works on ANY heli regardless of geometry, servo mounting, tail rotation direction or whatever else might be different from heli to heli.

If it can't hover, it ain't worth flying.

I put my finger between the slider and the rotor hub. As I move the tail quickly to the right, the slider moves away from the hub and not pinching to my finger.

That means I need to reverse the gyro the opposite way on the TX, correct?

Also, I tried to reverse the gyro in my 10c, but it has no effect on the gyro direction. With the spartan, do I need the cable to do this instead of just over the TX? I have channel 5 plugged in correctly with the red connector from the gyro.

On the workbench with the heli facing you tail in and the tail blades pointing vertically up and down,

1) To test servo direction: When you move the rudder stick to the right, the trailing edge of the tail blade should move to the right. And same to the left.

2) To test gyro direction: When you pivot the tail counter-clockwise the trailing edge of the blade should move to the right. And clockwise to move left. You can also think of it as when you pivot the tail with your hand to the right, the trailing edge of the blade moves to the right.

3)To test servo direction: When you move the rudder stick to the right, the trailing edge of the tail blade should move to the right. And same to the left.
(this is how my friend explained; he has several)
I put my finger between the slider and the rotor hub. As I move the tail quickly to the right, the slider moves away from the hub and not pinching to my finger.
You have to set your end points; and tell the gyro what servo you are using too. Follow the manual and you be ok.
I have channel 5 plugged in correctly with the red connector from the gyro.
Red plug goes to the gain; you can use Aux chanel or Gear; I used the Gear chanel; Blk plug goes to Rudder chanel and the other to your servo.

I dont suffer from mental iIlness, I actually enjoy mine!

Spool up slowly next time and test the rudder as you do. If it does something you aren't expecting, hit throttle hold and fix it.

1) You can never use the servo direction... it changes depending on what side of the heli the servo is on.

2) You should not use the slider direction... this changes depending on whether the tail grips are leading or trailing edge control.

3) An easy way (simple version):
a) Servo direction... the leading edge of the blade must move the opposite direction you move the stick (based on the heli's L/R).
b) Gyro direction...Moving the heli's nose left is the same as moving the stick right (cause the gyro will want to input R stick to correct for the L moving nose). So, nose goes left leading edge goes left. Nose goes right, leading edge goes right.

Hope this helps.
