Just got a couple of the idler pulley upgrades for the tail box on logo 600.

I thought it was a new carbon side frame LOL.

Anyway what is the idea, is the bearing meant to contact the belt or just sit above cause when it spins it will rise up?

Any difference in tail feeling between that and stock?

The pulley should not touch the belt. Just tighten it down about 1mm above the belt.

I run mine 1mm above as well. It's there to prevent the belt from jumping up off the tail pulley. You won't feel any difference in the air.

Yup, just a tiny bit of space.
If it's pushing down always it gives the tail a small high frequency vibration.

Can you guys tell me what aluminum tailcase I need to upgrade my stock plastic Logo 500 case? (It's not the larger diameter 600 boom)

Yesterday (for the first time) I had a tail twitch after about 3 minutes and after landing noticed my AR7000 RX was flashing which apparently indicates a hiccup/problem due to a static hit.

I already have the boom grounded to the motor mount but I think I may need to ground the tail and add a wire to the neg battery lead on the Jive too.

Thanks.

When spektrum rxs flash, it usually indicates a temporary power loss for the most part. You can see this if you keep your tx on, disconect your pack or supply for a second then re plug in, you'll see a rx flashing.

There is also an anti-static tail rotor hub/pulley available from RH. I've heard a few people claim thier static problems ended with the installation of the pulley, but I haven't tried it myself. Worth looking into at least.

Thanks Shawn & HeliFisher.

Now that you mention it Shawn, it was my last pack and on first connection the Jive (or RX) didn't power up so I unplugged and plugged again. I then heard the Jive tones and my swash servos moved on command (as normal) so I didn't pay close attention to the AR7000 status light.

What might cause a temporary power loss?

I'll pay closer attention next time at the field. I actually bought the antistatic tail pulley when I bought the kit but I think I decided to start out with the stock pulley first.

If you have to do that before you re plug in the lipo cycle your radio on and off.

You unplugging the lipo with radio still on is the power loss hence the blinking.

Thanks craze. This incident has me a little concerned as I don't want to have a 3rd crash (this one due to static) in 4 weeks .

I'm ready to buy the MIK4165 carbon tailcase upgrade and then run a ground wire from that to the boom. Dave Dahl was showing me one of Kyle's 600's at IRCHA and explained how he had it all grounded.

I think I'm going to do that with my 500.

Boom to the motor mount and a connection to an open port on rx negative is all I have done on all mine without issue.

nothing grounded to rx... (it is wierd)
Just ground tail boom to motor mount is enough.

flying without padles is better , but be sure to get electronic ones

krtek2k, Wierd how so?

I did this as with motor mount to boom with proven connect, I got an odd hit still, when I did the patch into open channel on the neg for the rx, no more hits ever of any sort since. I do not do the tail case, nor the neg of the esc, as I am picking up the negative on the board of the rx itself, capturing the neg of the esc.

Ok, so I guess next step it to get a servo pig-tail to plug into an unused channel on the AR7000 and connect the neg lead to the ground wire I currently have running from the boom to the motor mount.

Sounds good but I'd still like to know why my RX lost power under the Jive in the first place.

Just some info i got a new logo 600 kit yesterday and the mikado single bearing upgarde is incorporated into a new fin set for the tail case.
The bearing just contacts the belt and is fixed not adjustable.

Did you mean to say it is now incorporated Helicraze. Also, did your new kit come with the upgraded idler or just the hole for it? I just bought a carbon tail case for my 500 and noticed that it also has the new hole location for the idler. The Mikado upgraded idler is only sized for the 600 without some modification. Wonder if they are going to offer one for the 500 tail case as well?

Hi yes sorry i meant to say it does. I'm tired.

It comes with it all. You can even squeeze the standard plastic wheel with 2 bearings inside for extra security so there would be a double roller!
