Few of us are beginning to feel the weather change and are pondering - resting our gas and nitro's & going forward with small electrics.

To reduce withdrawal - we can fly in the air dome, gym's, in our back yards, park's, and lot's. Two of us are pretty sure, a third is definitely, and I know of of a fourth. Part interchangability is kinda prime - cause wev'e alway's got some form of rolling inventory amoung us were changing out.

But here is the ponder?? Not only are we thinking the econo route like the Kung Foo 450, but most of all is the Up - time were looking for. Hence durability and simplicity & bounceability - cause were no doubt gona be naughty to them. Loops, flips, walls - trees - bushes ect. Not hot 3- D stuff.

Grips, coming apart, 1.5mm screws stripping in the swashes, tail gears on torque tubes and mains stripping, gyro issues, servo issues, motor and ESC swap's and experiments.

We literially do not want to re-event the wheel with up grades you all have so deligently so discovered.

So far it looks like 450's or 500's, HK's or Align, which theirs like 8 version's so far ??

Bottom line whats the direct route for a durable, field fixable, beater ?? We could care less about non- functional bling or paint jobs as their just going to get the blades flown off them in the snow and yuk.

Sorry for the long post - but were sitting on enough parts' as it is

i've owned a trex 450v1 and now own a hk450 (miss my align). guys on here have had luck with the hk, but to me there is simply no comparison in quality of links, belt drives, etc.,etc. Buy a stock sa or even go crazy and get the new 450 pro,you won't be sorry. My 2 cents.

I've been trying some of these clone helis out lately.
The HK450 was just junk.

The EXI 450 is a nice lil heli.Fairly tough and super cheap to repair.
I just got a new tail boom today. It was $2.97.I paid like $35 for the whole heli.
Then I used Hitec servos.Align GP750 gyro with an Align DS420 tail servo.Spektrum AR6100e RX.
I'm using wood blades I get for $9 a pair.

There is also an EXI 500 kit that is a super nice heli.

xheli.com is the best place and maybe the only place to find them.

I suggest borrowing a gyro from your shelved nitro for the season. That is the only real money involved in these small helis.

I literally never use the word literally right.

My vote goes to the MA Furion. I've seen it go in inverted at full pelt and hardly any damage. Touch as old boots but flies like a champ.

Ive got an HK450 and recently setup a trex 450 for a fellow club member and I personally thought the trex was of lesser quality

Sincere thanx / please keep it comming !

Most likey these things are going to be living in our vehicle's with our snow shovels or dodging drifts. Our benches will be tied up with new planks and the bordom of nitro heli overhaul and building new packs.

Our goal is to just set them out side the door, or when the bug hits us !
