My mSR came today and my DX6i radio will be he tomorrow, I was reading the instruction and have a couple questions on "binding".

Do you have to "bind" it before every flight?
Or do you bind just once when setting up the radio.

Any tips, tricks, or pointers are appreciated.

Thanks
John

Hi John

there are instructions for binding the DX6i in the included manual , and it just needs to be bound once , before the first flight

start with a blank model memory , and just edit in the name , mSR or whatever you prefer , you can use either acro or a heli ( with a heli have it setup to 1 servo swash ) , keep us posted on your progress , cheers

Thanks guys, I got the radio and set up a very basic heli program, I am off and flying. I did nothing with the monitor or swash type, are these things that will improve handeling?

Any tips?

Hi
good work , glad to hear you have it , the default swash type for a new memory is ( 1 servo normal ) , and that is what you want so you are all set . cheers

egg "No, but adjusting travel for aileron, elevator, or rudder will."

Could you be more specific about the settings?

Thanks
John

In the travel menu, there will be percents. They are all preset to 100% upping it to 120% + will make the servos move more.

To make it even easier just use the airplane type. You don't need throttle or pitch curves anyways. One thing you will notice is it piroettes to the left slow. All you need to do is take the end point up to the left on the rudder channel. I just tried mine outside in the dark and it was fun. Hard to tell what is was doing though as I didn't install any glow in the dark parts on. This thing is fun. Chuck

Be careful adjusting travel volume!

Raising the travel volume can have serious damaging effects for linear servos. If you are going to adjust the volume above 100%, you must observe the travel on the servo itself. You can blow out the end of the servos if you are not careful.

So you don't have to have the TX set to "Acro" like it says in the instructions?

I can set it heli and then set it up like a raptor - 1 servo?

So that's an option???

Saturday morning I flew my helicopter in my pajamas
How it got in my pajamas I'll never know
