Wow, it is so easy to strip the gear. I just have a not so hard landing, and the gear is stripped. Do you guys have this problem?

Yup, it's very common with any Trex that has a TT. The lesson is don't set the heli down hard.

If the motor is still spinning, the front & rear gears will strip if the tail blades touch the ground. But Ive never had the gears strip if i do a bad auto and tail blades strike the ground.

Just land leaning fowrward, and let it spool down that way.

A lot of T500 flyers convert to belt drive after replacing the gears a few times. Some aftermarket company needs to make hardened steel replacement gears.

The reason why I get the TT is because a lot of people said the belt generates quite a lot of static noise that causes radio glitching.

Some of the early kits had a problem with the belt rubbing and causing static. That’s nit a problem any more. I now have two with belt drive, one 72 MHz and one 2.4 GHz, and have never had a problem. I have had a few crashes and the belt has never broken.

Doesn't the 500 offer an optional break-away torque tube shaft like the 450Pro does? I've hit the tail of my 450Pro in the dirt a few times and toasted the torque tube shaft, but I have yet to damage any of the gears.

I wish Align will come up with the metal gears upgrade.
