My Align starter shaft rounded off. For pictures click on link below. That was only after a couple of dozen starts so I'm also interested in a reliable shaft. The starter itself is great but my shaft is toast. The majority of guys who purchased this starter system have not had this problem. I'm just the lucky one. I have emailed Align but of course no response.
