I just had a couple quick setup questions.

I'm running a dual output voltage regulator for my gyro and tail servo. Obviously, the gyro is going bye bye, but how should I connect my tail servo to the mini v-bar? directly to it? or throught the voltage regulator?

Also, I still cannot get the firmware for the mini v-bar to install correctly. I am running Vista Ultimate (64 bit) I know there are compatibility issues between 4.0 and 64 bit vista, but I cannot figure out for the life of me how to disable the signed driver requirement.

Lastly, how should my channels be plugged into the mini vbar seeing as I'm going to run it as my reciever. i.e. where does my throttle channel go, I'm running a multi gov pro, and where does the aux 2 wire go.

Any and all help is much appreciated seeing as I am completely new to the V-bar world.

Thank You,

Thomas

Yowza, I think you have successfully found every available obstacle!

Sorry, can't help with Vista, but I swear I was reading a post that explains the walk around... I'll keep looking.

Edit, does this help:
The USB drivers have a 64 bit version - which is unsigned - and that is the only problem
If you use MS Update that will result in your copy of Vista refusing to load the driver (because it's unsigned)

To get around this, during boot time you can press F8,
one of the menu options will be to continue with the signed driver requirement disabled.
I don't believe you will be able to use the MiniV without a standard external receiver since you need additional channels...sorry. I could be wrong (probably not) but it's not looking good.

Here's the standard tail servo voltage walk-around for a NON-MINI Vbar. Maybe this will help??

http://vstabi.de/user_wiki/index.ph...d_5V_tail_servo

On my electric install, I used RX-B for the ESC and RX-C for the voltage input. RX-A would only be used with the supplied cable to input each of the 3 cyclic signal wires (individual wire only) from your standard receiver.

I plugged a WR step down between the V-bar and the tail servo. Easy as that.

Yes, I've made tremendous progress. It never had any issues from the get go. The gyro values for the tail are entirely too high. Mr. Mel's setup is pretty good to start with. Just toy with it. Oh, and you have to run a seperate reciever. The mini vbar doesn't have a channel for throttle or gov.

I will Calibrate my govener manually and use the two satalites
, you should be able to use rx-b for your throttle and not need an extra channel?

RX-A = Cyclic inputs from external Rx only.

RX-B = Throttle out.

RX-C = Power in. Possibly other output, but there would be no other way to get power to the unit other than a Y-harness?

Maybe we can figure out what "channel" RX-c outputs???

I think rx c is the esc output for the smaller electric birds, but I could be wrong.

Sorry, I wasn't clear...

I use B for my esc (electric)and I believe you can use B for your throttle as well (smoker)...

I use C to provide bus power, but it might also be used for Aux 1 (???) which could drive the gov settings???

You would then only need a y-harness to supply power to the bus...

So, the question for us to figure out is...what does the signal pin for RX-C do? I'm leaning towards Aux 1...

You could post that question on the V-stabi site.

That's up to the OP, I guess. I have a Mini-V on my small heli and a standard V on my big heli, so I have no worries...

By assigning the #4 to the only available remaining channel in the Vbar software (named Regler), I was able to activate the Aux 2 switch on my DX7. I assume this is for RX-C which I am only using as a power input (no signal wire) from my BEC... News you can use if you choose.

What did you do? Does the mini V-bar have an aux channel?

See my updated text to my post above or the same below. Too many things going on tonight, sorry for the confusion...

So far, the mini v is working great. The only reason it is not meant for a larger helis is because of the different vibration frequencies of each helicopter category in reference to size. With the right dampening it's great.

Do you have any pics of the install so that others can benefit?
