Hiya,

I'm looking for a cable to connect my Spektrum DX6i to my computer so I can use it with the simulators. I cant seem to find any on the internet, they all seem to be either for the E-sky or Futaba transmitters.

Any help greatly appreciated!

which sim? I know with Phoenix you have to purchase the software to get the cable.

well i've got a bunch of CD's that my friend has given to me to borrow, they are:

XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXX

I've heard that you need a special 'dongle' for XXXXXXXXXX, but i'm not sure about the others.

Thanks

Not with FMS or Clearview.I used my DX7 with both for a long time.
I have Phoenix now and use the dongle but I never had one before.Just the cable and it worked really well.

Yea, with Pheonix you must use their dongle. It is part of their anti-piracy system. The software will not run without it.

If your friend is letting you "borrow" Phoenix, then he must give you the dongle to. Otherwise you both wcould use it at the same time which is software piracy.

Thanks for the replies guys.

The Phoenix sim works fine, loads and everything. Its just I dont have a transmitter cable to connect my DX6i to the computer.
Same with all the other sims, they all work fine. I get to the point where the helicopter is on the ground, waiting to take off but it cant.
If I cant get hold of a dongle, would an emu or something work?

cheers

Negative,
All of the sims require their own USB dongle which is specific for each of those sims. Otherwise they just load but you can't fly them without this. The only way to get this is by buying it outright.

The usb dongle is a hardware lock for the software so it can't be used unless you have the dongle. The dongle is coded and allows the sim to work, so without it it just loads up in Windows but will not be able to be used even if you could connect your controller to your PC.

If you want FREE sims, then stick with FMS or one of the other downloadable Freeware versions.

If you want to use good, commercial sims, you actually have to bite the bullet and pay for them. As stated clearly earlier, the software simply won't work unless you own the hardware dongle or adapter cable designed to work with the software you have.
