As the title says, I will be starting the build tomorrow for my weekend's funfly.
Anything I should pay attention during, that maybe has been an issue with the kits ?
I might as well be prepared since I really have limited time to do this.

Also, is the included governor a good one to use ? I just want to dump my gv1 and go with something else newer. Should I just install the stock one for now, or get a ATG or something ?
If yes, why ? What are the issues with the stock one.

I will be using 680mm radix which I have. Is 710 better ? Never tried them so far...

Thanks for all inputs...

stock gov works pretty well but does allow some overspeed at times on rapid negative G maneuvers.

an ATG or Multigov will help a bit there, but it's not a huge deal, just depends on how anal you are about overspeed.

690's will liven up the cylic a bit on the 700. 710's have more lift/pop to them so it depends on what you like or what style your flying is.

My favorite combo is my Kasama head on my #1 TREX700 with 690 Mavrikk G5pro wide cords. Tons of pop/stop/snap and cyclic authority

I just finished building mine. Great build so far.

Couple of things I noticed during the build:

The screws that hold the servos in strip very easily (even with the right allen head screw driver), I ended up replacing mine with some 3/32 allen heads I had from airplane stuff.

Also, make sure you use the correct wrench for the bolts that hold the side frames together (the shoulder screw things, I think they're 2.5mm). Those strip fairly easy as well, and don't use a ball driver on them. Don't go crazy with the loctite here either, they'll strip easy when you have to pull them out for repairs.

Make sure you go back over ALL of the bolts that are pre-assembled, I found some to be loose.

The engine shroud needed modified slightly to allow for my Hatori mount to fit my YS, but was easily done with a dremel.

Other than that, I can't remember anything that stuck out to me that needed changed or anything.

I've got Radix 690s on mine as well. Haven't flown it yet, but should be able to soon!

Have fun!
