I have taken off my ar6100 rx and want to run the stock receiver and radio (for the first time) on my old HBK2. I've never used either the stock receiver or transmitter and am not familiar with them but how much simpler can it get than this stuff? I even have the manual and am trying to get the servos in the right channels and going in the right directions. I have the servos plugged into the channels as the manual shows the set-up. The cyclic commands are correct but the collective is backwards. When the positive collective is input the servo arms go down not up. What am I overlooking? It must be something dumb that I'm just not seeing.

Those operate backwards of the stock Esky servos. Since you can't reverse the swash mix in the stock radio you'd have to do it mechanically. I'm not even sure its possible, but as I recall there was some talk of reversing the head, and swapping to leading edge blade grips.

Even when you are done, you'll be stuck with the stock radio, no adjustments and a throttle curve that won't give you much headspeed.

Ahhhhhhh, but of course. That must be the answer, thanks Greg. The DX7 and other nice radios make the job so much easier. I'll dig up those esky servos if I can find them. I appreciate the correct advice, as usual.

If you can't get it to work by reversing servos or swapping CH1 and CH6 then your in for a world of hurt.

I'm addicted to a perky swash throw and 20% expo so using a Tx w/o expo makes me fly like a drunk sailor.

It was the HS-55s moving the wrong way as Gregor correctly diagnosed. I happened to have just three esky stock servos that work and after plugging them in, the collective and cyclic work together and correctly. I'm building this heli back as a stock HBK2 for guys I know interested in the hobby to take a 'test drive' so to speak. I even suspect that the stock components working together (except the gyro), weak as they are, will make a docile and somewhat stable trainer if set up right. So this time I'm not trying 'to hop it up' like when I first got it, but rather 'hop it down' a little. I might like it better. Thanks for the help. BTW I don't fly with expo, never have. What am I missing?
