The Thorp/MIP 0.9 mm hex driver will solve all your woes if you have one of the original kits with the 0.9 mm socket head screws. Later kits changed screws to use a larger driver.

http://www.miponline.com/MIP/HWrench.html

You'll want number 9012, the 0.9 mm driver.

Pricey, and shipping is a bit much, but if you want to work on your 250 -- it's the only way to go.

You might be able to find this same driver at some of the "usual" on-line heli shops that sell the 250.

Just be gentle with them I use this driver and only two fingers on the black metal part of it.
You don't need to tighten them like on the .90 machines

For 10 bucks the new larger screw kit is a more solid option, uses a 1.3mm driver.

The Thorpe/MIP driver is a must, didn't have any problems putting mine together. Funnily enough, the only screws which stripped were the new 1.3 hex bolts on the upgrade metal boom clamp.

Bought the RC Screws stainless kit, but i found that most of the bolts are the wrong pitch thread, so a waste of money.

Cheers,

Simon

I bought a Wera 1.3 driver. Brilliant far better & cheaper than the Thorp driver. Paid £4 posted on ebay.

Really? So none of the bolts will properly thread into the holes? I started a separate thread to specifically address this issue.

Mine is still the .9mm with the original Align Hex driver.. I can snap my Hex driver into any of the screws and nearly pick up the Heli from the interference fit.. My driver will fit into the screws then you push a little and you can feel it move to the bottom of the screw head.. I have not stripped out any of mine yet..

Rick

If in doubt lean it out . We don't do this to save money, we save money to do this
