starter Heli choice

Hi, Im novice, actually has a Walkera 1#B electric tail wich is driving me crazy, burning motors. I woulkd like to get a Trex 450 Copter X or a Belt CP, I like the first since many people told me it’s a great stable machine, but also consider a Belt CP due I see it’s a very popular machine, Since I live in Argentina and these things arent very popular here, availabilty and price of parts they are a great point to have in mind. Well any input will be welcomed, thanks for them in advance. Alex

Sim time as usual and trex 450 sev1. They are very durable and cheap as they can be right now. I messed around with the blade cp for a year or so and spent so much money on blades I could not count. Happy flying.

Got to have my cup of heli in the morning.

On my v3 trex I use futaba 9257 tail servo 401 gyro combo, 3 jr cyclic ds285mgs, -8 scorpion motor and stock 35amp esc. Use the best electronics you can afford and you wont be sorry. I also use 25/30c thunder power lipos.

Got to have my cup of heli in the morning.

I Agree... don't get a belt. I had one and spent most of the time repairing it. I'm happy with the trex 450. I live in argentina now and you can buy align trexs complete line and parts in argentina from http://www.helitec.com.ar. I had very good experience with them.

Good electronic makes a big difference (if not you end up buying twice). When I started I used plastic cheap to replace, then upgrade to aluminum the important parts. Yes I live in argentina now, email me if you like.

Get the alluminum. I found as a begginer myself most of the plastic head parts will break any way. More slop on the plastic parts too. I found this link for you. A nice deal for all alluminum. However, some of the clone alluminum parts are not as precicely made and will have a little slop. If the do you can later replace with align or IMHO Heli dierct HDX parts which are better and cheaper. The dont come in that ugly blue either.

Turnigy is cheap but made poorly. Their products work well for a while. The TG9 servos will not hold up in crash. I strip the gears every time. Sometimes the servos are glitchy from the get go. I have Turnigy motors which work well but tend to loosen up at the bearings after only about 30 flights. Batteries are OK.

I still say you go for the Copter X 450 I suggested. CopterX has a beeter track record for the trex clone. I have read way to many complaints about the HK 450. Also some of the items on the HK have been changed but not the picture. However, the alluminum replacement parts they sell cant be beat.

Xheli has an EXI 450. Not bad. Comes with an alluminum head block for $40

If you can't afford a new one I say get a used one or a used trex 450 v2. Just remember if you buy cheap you buy twice.

Ale,I just put it out there so you can decide but to bang the 450 around it is good with some extra replacment parts,I have an HK- 450 and crashed it many times already on hard concrete and it has taken a beating from me but since it's so cheap I have a whole mess of spare's,but you choose as you wish.I'll sned you a PM.true that the TG9 servos are actually tower pro servos witch are'nt that graet MKS is better the TURNIGY LIPO'S are graet so is the accuecell 6 charger, the ASSAN 410 GYRO good but do'nt crash it on concrete jajaja

I would say to ya build your own from the knockoff airframes such as the hk or ds 450 and get electronics from TRUSTED RR members. I built one for about 200.00 complete!

I'm addicted to flying! Seriously!! I need rehelihab!
