I realize that I've ground the bottom of my skid by 0.5mm after landings on the the cement. I know that most T-rex models have small rubber rings slided into the skid pipes, but the Vibe 50 doesn't come in stock. Does anyone know where I can find the right size for Vibe 50's skid pipes? Below is my search but I don't know if they will fit:

I'd rather just new skids now and again. The rubber stops can stick to the ground and cause the heli to tip over on autos, etc...

That makes me think twice, Sillyness. Since last flying session was the first time I started doing some landings in Autos...I realize the skids did slide on the cement by a couple inches each time. If this is the the case, I will take them out whenever learning or planning on doing Auto's.

Um...on the other hand, wouldn't these rubber pieces absorb shocks in rough landings?

The rubber pieces really aren't very thick enough to absorb much energy in a hard landing. You will not want to put them on and take them off all the time. In my experiences, you might as well not put them on. Once fuel get underneath them, they get real slippery and move around on the skids. Not to mention they could grab in an auto which would be my first concern. If you can't tell, I don't use them. hehe

OK...this has led me to a crazy thinking. Why doesn't anyone making a the skids with wheels ? Is it only Scale models that deserve landing gears with wheels ??

Wheels weigh more. Skids can be almost weightless.

Plus, with wheels, if you land going sideways you are looking at tipping over as if you had skid stops. Planes are simple... they always land going in one direction except in very high winds, then the foward intertia usually straightens them out.
