If they are truly "hangar queens" and no longer needed , why not donate them to a needy memeber of your club ?
I bet I know who you voted for last November!

I have to agree with Mutt........

You can call me the "fun police" or whatever else suits you but I find that a complete waste of your time and money (whoever actuall own the aircraft)
And are you that arrogant and and self righteous (spelled correctly I might add) to feel that you can dictate who can express an opinion and who cannot ??? What kind of a "double standard" are you trying to pull here ???
Ok, I have to hop on the bandwagon here. If you are going to correct somebody on spelling or grammar, be sure that you are correct in YOUR grammar and spelling BEFORE you jump somebody else or make a comment like the one above.

I believe that "actuall" has a "y" at the end of it!!

That being said, I partially agree with the statement about donating the aircraft to a less fortunate member. I believe that it is your aircraft and you can do with it as you please, but if somebody could use it to learn to fly or doesn't have the cash to purchase an aircraft, bless somebody!! We had a guy at our field that wanted to learn to fly helis but couldn't afford one. I just happened to have a Trex 450 plain jane lying around so I took him off to the side of the field and blessed him with it and taught him how to fly. That was a year ago. To this day he still has the heli and he is very proud of it!!

Totally shameful, IMHO !!
What kind of a "double standard" are you trying to pull here ???
I must say Juan, you have a point here and it's something that I have done in the past with a T-Rex450 I no longer needed. Although, it is a pretty rich suggestion from a guy that just sold a bunch of stuff that he no longer needed in the classified section.

By the way, to get back on topic for the post, GREAT VIDEO! Next time let's see a couple of 90's though!

Perfectly good aircraft NOT. That Foamie was falling apart BEFORE I flew it that last time. Who learns to fly on a 36" Extra 330 foamie? No one who will actually learn anything.

That Belt CP was flying with c r a p parts and the remaining good parts parts along with all my spare Belt CP parts are being sent to a guy in training. I am paying for the shipping.

Don't judge people when you don't know the whole story folks. If you can't take the vids, don't watch. More to come.

I received a PM, from someone I won't name as it was a PM, telling me about Juan's benevolence, giving away a transmitter to someone that had lost their job and was in need. This is really the main problem with the Internet, people, including myself, sometimes get judgmental without first understanding the entire situation. My apologies again to you Juan for my unnecessary sarcasm.

I can't believe people are actually discussing "needy" as someone that can't afford a heli.

What people want to do with thier toys is thier business. The videos are cool to watch and I'd liked to have been there to see in person

As for getting worked up over not giving to the needy,wow...go sell your expensive toys and actually give to the needy

or just STFU!

What type of impact does this have on a flying field / club if they are AMA scantioned? I would think posting this type of stunt, no matter how controlled, is placing that field / club in a possible situation of loosing the use of the field, especially for other members.

I'm not taking any position here but there have been several posts similar to this involving a intentional 'crash' so my question is simply that, a question.

Is this also, speaking in light of what I've heard about the FAA and model aircraft, placing 'all us modelers' into a tough situation?

The whole shift in aeromodeling towards hardcore 3D, in your face and feet away from spectators or insanely fast real turbine aircraft or huge aircraft that closly resemble full scale pose real issues regarding non compliance with generally accepted operating procedures. The possibility (I know of a few cases) of serious injury or death is there.

I'm afraid that our 'freedom' to operate rc aircraft is on the path to being even more restricted and concerns should be in order to act responsbile.

Where I typically fly there is FAR more danger from the average newbie pilot. And even some of the seasoned pilots. I take far more risk getting on the flight line with some of these guys than I did that day. I've been buzzed only feet above my head by planks taking off and have had crashes feet away from me or my vehicle over the 20+ years I've been flying. I would not have done this with a Nitro heli or plank. BTW, we did it early enough that the only spectators were those involved. If the AMA would spend any time on something has simple as this, then they are wasting all of our dues money.

The AMA sanctions people flying in parks. I've seen videos of heli novice pilots flying near kids and adults at parks. And I'm talking LOTS of kids. Don't you think this is far more dangerous? There's a guy that regularly flies "experimental" small electrics near people and cars and posts vidoes them. Those are far more risky.

Good points regarding 'newbies'. There are a lot of variables that can make this hobby have a perceived danger factor, some of which are in our control, some of which are not. I've had 'pilot error' and mechanical crashes even after 25 years in this hobby, where I would consider myself competent. The danger is there and we the modelers know and understand the dangers but we should also promote responsible practices for those outside of RC.

It would be difficult for someone outside of RC (and does not understand the skills involved) to not view intentional mid airs ( or any other type of intentional crash) as reckless. Especially when there is a post of a parachute student and instructor being clipped by a RC aircraft that is supposedly 'in control'. This type of accident is bad publicity. Should these outsiders come here for 'learning more' about this hobby, and come across our intentional vids, then we have chosen to be poor ambassadors to modeling.

My point being, your post just raised this thought. I am NOT calling you nor anyone else who has similar posts out. I am not harping.
