Mate i have a standard Status as well and would love a BW but I dont think it is worth upgrading in my case as I am not what you would call a 3d flyer and i love the way she flys as it is but if you can fly fairly well it my be worth doing.

I have been told from a guy with both that he prefers the standard as it isnt as touchy to fly as the BW has 2:1 bell cranks etc to make it more sensitive to all stick inputs this is my understanding but i may have it
wrong

Do a search for more info

All the best

Hi

I had two normale stratusses, that i rebuild to High Ratio (bobby watts) stratusses.
I also switch the cyclic servos from 9451@6V to 8717@6V and 8V.
BW has 2:1 bell cranks etc to make it more sensitive to all stick inputs
yes, The BW stratus is much faster on the stopps (pitchpump) and cyclic (crack)

I like to high ratio Stratus, and never regret the conversion

If you have a "normale" Stratus you taht you will convert to High Ratio Stratus (BW / Bobby Watts) you need:

#126-136 - 240$ at MA and Ronlund
http://www.miniatureaircraftusa.com...e-Kit-P727.aspx
http://www.ronlund.com/Merchant2/me..._Code=MA126-136

Bellcranks are indcluded.

NOTE: the Sideframe stiffneres ARE not included (that is the parts i the lower left plastic bag)
Frame stiffneres, have part number #126-107

Here is what you need to convert Fury Extreme to Stratus:

Something else to think about (thats all we need). I have a BW Strat and love it. But I wanted more cyclic response, more snap. Comparing it to my friends 700 is like night and day, now I don't mean to get everybody riled up here but the truth is the 700 has waaayyy more cyclic response. But thats OK because my Stratus is super smooth and presice. So to obtain best of both worlds I went flybarless (RJX head, Skookum). With the 3D profile from the Skookum this thing is a BEAST! I mean get in, strap up, and hold on!!
So my point is this, with the 2 to 1 ratio of the BW bellcranks I was not getting enough servo travel (this causes issues with resolution and torque). Swash mix was very low like 27 on pitch and 42 on ail./ele. So I found the best solution was to put on the old style bellcranks, and presto swash mix came up to a comfortable level. Of course if you went with a head with a mixer this might not be a problem. Any way just my .02.

I also am/was running 8717s on the BW. Just never seemed to flip or roll very quick imo. I love it with the fbls set up.

Sometimes ago I switch to Torsion 690 Blades.
They are VERY quick on Pitch and Cyclic.

I also use the longest MA flaybar 20 3/4" (#568-1) and SAB 20grams paddels, and 95V Paddels.
I also use the 8717 on 6V and 8V

PS: I have tried some T700, and i feel they do have some kinda expo on the center pitch position, kinda slow near center...

Be sure to post how the two compare. Hey, now that you have standard parts laying around, how about selling them for cheap? I still have the standard.

I actually preferred the way the old school Stratus flew.

Overall it seemed to track better and I never noticed a difference from the frame stiffeners.

I also flew with 8717's so the difference between a .06 60*deg/s swash response and a .03 60*deg/s swash response is very minimal and you'd find very few people that could notice a .03 60*deg/sec difference between the two.

For anyone else considering, just keep the standard bell cranks as they were fine for me and in return, you're going to gain twice the torque and twice the servo resolution.

perhaps simply enjoy the stock stratus then get the new 90 when it

comes out.

I have seen it in action and it is INSANE and ULTRA TOUGH.

The B/W conversion is sick, and lightning fast, so be prepared...

I have a fury extreme and will buy the new 90 because of its

simplicity , low parts count , and direct to swash servo placement.

I feel taht my stratus with the OS91SZ, did vibrate less and runs more smooth with the stiffners on...
