Hey i was wondering what the best engine would be for a TREX 600 going inside a Hughes 500 fuselage with 5 blade main rotor for scale flying? I have a OS 50SX-H Hyper but was thinking I might need something a bit more?

Any suggestions???

Thanks

the OS 50 should be fine, many guys are using them for the 500s, now for the 5 blade head you may need to gear it lower (if you can)..

that's great !!, I was going by what I was told by someone, but of-course you know the hobby, what may not work for one another may make it work, but of-course we don't know what his heli weighed, what muffler/pipe or gear ratio or fuel he was burning or the shape his engine was in, we said his was sluggish ..

A lot of hypers going on runryder for good deals. I'd pick one of them up for scale.

Man, I miss the eighties.

I can't see that motor, setup correctly, having any problem what so ever pulling around any reasonable 50 size scale heli with authority. Of course it may have weighed 12 pounds and he lives in Denver.....

Dunno,

IMO in my experience the YS50 is easier with rear bearings and probably remove the engine from a scale bird is quite problematic.

For scale I´ll choose the smoothest trouble-free engine and I think that is a YS50.
