The scale will depend entirely on the heli being modeled, not the mechanics... i.e. a 50 size MD500 is usually ~1/6th, but a 50 size AS350 is going to be closer to 1/8th...

Dave,
look at the thunder tiger scale bodies.they are made perfectly for the raptors.just seems easier to buy one of these rather than a plastic model kit.I bought one and the fit and quality are right on.

it's better to ask for forgiveness than for permission

I agree with both comments above.
However if the sadist in you still wants to go the plastic route. There is nothing available in the UK that will fit. (that I am aware of)

In the US there is a heli kit called a 'Little Bird' for what I think is their GI Joe series of action figures.
Quite a few have converted those and the evidence is here on RR.

But to second Trek, look at the TT fuz's or the Century/funkey ones, most of them will pretty much fit.

For reference, in modelling terms, the ratio works as such:
The larger the second number in the ratio the smaller the model
So 1:35 is one inch of measurement on your kit is 35 inches on the full size.
Therefore 1:6th is 1 inch = 6inches etc.
Kits go right down to 1:600 for big model ships.
Conversersly 1:2 is HALF scale!

Hope this helps your quest.

Ade

After scale everything else is a toy!

I don't think any of the static kit manufacturers (Hasegawa, Tamiya, Dragon etc.) make something that big besides the large 21st Century helicopters that were sold in the toy stores.
