Ok, this seems like a simple question but i just want to make sure. The other day i threw a magnet on my 50. I have the CSM RevLoc 10. My question is can i use any magnet? Such as a magnet for the GV-1 or ATG? I would think a magnet is a magnet but sometimes things are not as easy as they seem.

Thanks

Most of the magnets are the same size and you have to set the right polarity to make you rev loc work correctly , the magnets have to be opposite polarity to work .

Any single magnet, the revlock can only use 1. Polarity doesn't matter with the RL's

just in case anyone is curious. I got the GV-1 magnets today and installed one in the heli for the CSM. The sensors tests ok. So it looks like its going to work no problem. The magnets seem to be the same size too.

Sand the Mag...

If you sand the magnet with wet/dry 400 to 600 grit paper your adhesive will get a better bite. I have never thrown a magnet after I started doing this. If the fan is plastic I use a dremel burr to roughen the pocket for the magnet. I also drill the plastic pocket with a small drill(1/16th or less), it flushes the magnet to the bottom of the pocket, plus once the epoxy sets you end up with the equivalent of a mini dowell pin.
