Clean wiring jobs have 7100R and run 8 volts.

it's funny you mentioned that...it's about 2 weeks now me and my buddy are trying to find a way to run 8v with our 14ch futaba receivers. i would like to run 2s directly to the servos without affecting the receiver, i think the futaba 14ch is on rated at 6v max i think...

Right now i'm running 8717's, TP 2s Lipo, with a 6V Flihttech reg and some step downs.

ne-way, did anybody achive this with the fut 14ch receiver through some kind of regulator i never heard about??

you could probably to something similar to how we run a v-bar at 8v in regards to the tail servo where you run the +/- out of the reciever/stepdown at 5.1v and the signal wire out of the vbar. You would need something like the spectrum 5.2v reg ($30) to power the receiver to feed all the signal wires. Then you have to come up with some sort of power bus to run all the +/- from the servos to the 2s.
the key is just to separate all the signal wires to the receiver at a lower voltage and run all the power to the servos direct form the 2s.

Search over in the vbar section and you can find the basic diagram then just apply that to all the servos not just the tail

majestic12, thanks for your input!

I did some serching last night, i think i found the solution to my problem!! they say "Fromeco pdf" that you can plug a direct 2s and send the lipo unregulated to the 3 high voltage servos and send 5 volts regulated back to the rx?
read page 4 on the pdf.

i still want to make sure the futaba receiver can handle a constant 5v or 6v.

check out the pdf.

Of course the RX will handle 5V. A typical 4-cell NMH or NICAD pack will be 5.2V. All of the modern receivers can handle 6 volts or more. The Spektrum receivers are rated up to 9.6 volts.

Here is my wiring job. Its a 7100R 8V system that simplifies wiring. It was time consuming but I think it was worth it.

Ok...kinda cheating but I cut new frames that do a little more than just clean up the wiring. All wires, gov, gyro, glow are hiden internally. Quick removal of 4 screws and the battery/rx tray lifts off to reveal everything.

How did you mount your header tank?

Keep those photos coming.

I noticed none of you guys are running header tanks, any issues with air in the system, I bought a new header tank but wouldn't mind dumping it if air intake is not an issue, and guys w/ no header, are you running fuel magnets, sorry to hijack the thread?
