I have that exact bridge on my Predator and I can tell you there is no difference in the rigidness provided by the bridge and the tube/zip-tie. The tube/zip-tie is *very* strong/tight.

i have been told in the past by some of the pro's that the bridge lets you bump up the gain a little.

is it a significant difference? not to me, a few clicks on the gain doesnt mean a lot to me, but it would for someone who competes and is trying to get what ever they can out of a machine. and it does add some rigidity to the system when you look in terms of the supports buckling. I have one of these bridge supports on the 90, but not on the 50, simply because i haven't gotten around to buying one yet.
Contrary to popular belief, the tail boom braces are not so much to support it along the fore-aft axis (vertically), but far more to support it along the yaw axis (laterally).

That is so that the yaw forces generated by the tail rotor, in all the pirouetting maneuvers, will not cause the boom to flex laterally. So the higher up they are, the better they may be at doing so.
This is quoted from someone who actually knows what he is talking about.

Knowing this, you can tell how a bridge would improve tail performance, and not just be a life line for a failed support (although it has come in handy a few times for that purpose).
