Do servos get gummed up and corroded over time?

The reason I ask is, I have several HELIS that have been sitting around for awhile and I have not flown them in quite awhile. (I know shame on me!)

The servos in question are all older HI-TEC and one older Futaba on the tail!

Opinions on whether it is worth refurbishing or just buying new servos? I'm guessing new servos would be best!

All responses will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeff

I've never had a heli that really lasted a long time
But many of my planes are flying with servos that are up to 8 years old. No problem with them.

No question, buy new everything is best

I have some 15 year old servos that I fly in 25-40 size trainers, they work. I know of a heli at our field that is at least 20 years old, gyro, servos and all - it flys.
