I was wondering if anyone has truly set their TREX450 up to identical specs as Ray does in this Vol.?

The more Im flying latley the more Im asking myself, am I really needing all this power.

Im wanting a more Governed set up,,,I think.... Im also not flying a TREX450, as Im using the Mini Titan currently. Will the Titan even be able to have similar set up math, as to the math of the TREX450 set up?

Ray's or Finless, or posts here on RR will get you into the ballpark, then you need to adjust the helicopter to your preference, experience level, and flying style.

Its weird, as I have watched many set up VIDS, and it seems Ray goes the extra mile, and performs many more checks in set up math.

Well if you prefer math over flying....more power to ya.

Where are Ray's videos located? I've already watched all of the Finless videos (some of them 2 and 3 times.. lol).

Can't hurt to have a different view on heli setup.

I'm using a Kontronic Jazz 40-6-18 ESC and it has a very good governor built in. I fly it with in Trex450 with an NEU 1107 1.5Y motor and 3s 2200 35c Hyperion lipos. I have NO complaints with power and RPM maintenance.

You have to buy Ray's. It is great stuff, worth the price whether you are beginer or expert.

Finless Bob's stuff worked for me perfectly and his tutorial setups are free. I built it exactly as he says to, and tuned the radio exactly as per the video tutorials and my 450 has been flying perfectly ever since. I point everyone to Finless Bob's free video tutorials since it worked so well for me and gave me a complete understanding as to what I was doing and why.

+1 for MoneyPits comment. For a newbie, Ray's videos are easily worth the price. Personally, I think they are a good resource for anyone but for someone just starting out they are really helpful. If you happen to own either a Raptor 50 or X9303 (what he uses in the videos) don't think twice.

I've used Ray's stuff since he gave advice in Flying Models, RCM, his 1st book, and then his tapes. Haven't bought the DVDs. He explains things thoroughly. Probably more info than most will use; however it is there if wanted.

i noticed a few guys where i fly get there heli's setup as per rays vids, and dont fly worth a crap. then i realized none of them had the same gear as demonsrated on vids. so if you swear by rays you have to buy gear like ray. i know some info is basic but they cant expect it to fly like the video. rays an expert.

I remember when sex was safe and Heli's where dangerous.

This is a great point here!

I'm flying a Mini Titan 450 class heli, and it seems only the basic set up tech(which is killer advice) works. I have been flying 100% throttle curves since I learnd to hover.

Watching Rays 450 trex fly, it seems so gracful and extremly smooth, unlike my set up, which flys nice, but it is extremly high strung. With Rays set up (trex), his outfit has great power, and great climb out with minimal settings. That is what I want.

Trying his set ups exactly, my heli is a DOG! And trying different curves thus far seems not to impress me, so I keep reverting back to 100% to fly!

i believe you should set it up to where your most comfortable flying, the rest comes with stick time, the more you fly it the smoother you'll get. i see that happening with alot of guys.

I remember when sex was safe and Heli's where dangerous.

For my leval of expertise, I fell completly comfortable. I guess Im just trying to figure out a different set, so I can get rid of the 100% Throttle curves, and so on. I also have a bad Tinkering disease to......

The really cool part is that he is autoing the 450 class bird, and most around here say, NO WAY to autos with a 450 class...
