Hey Everyone,

I bought a Blade CP from a friend at work who never used it recently and have been flying it for a few weeks now. About my only MAJOR complaint is the tail rotor and how I have to constantly trim it as I fly and the voltage decreases. In order to improve the tail, I bought a dual motor tail housing and installed it. Not only did the upgrade greatly affect the center of gravity, but it also fried the tail rotor portion of the 4-1 unit. The unit still works perfectly but there is no voltage going to the tail now.

What I was wondering is how is everyone else dealing with the CP's tail control, and, what can I do to improve mine? Do I need to abandon the stock 4-1 and go with separate everything so that I can use a heading hold gyro? Is there anything else that I can do?

I really like the Blade CP, but the tail problem is aggravating, to say the least. If I could get better tail control the little heli would be so much more fun to fly and I could do so much more with it.

Thanks and best regards,

Ricky

I've been flyin the original cp for 3yrs and the tail motor has been replaced many times. You just learn to get the trim pots as spot on as you can and fly it the best you can. Had the same voltage drop issue w/ trim. Good calm day I can fly fig8's around the yard, very light!

I'm addicted to flying! Seriously!! I need rehelihab!

Alot of people are doing direct-drive tails now. The Blade CP Pro 2 is a DD tail and I haven't had any problems with it yet. Search around in the "Who's still flying the BLade CP" thread and you'll see people using Feiago and medusa motors for tail. I think they're using CC Phoenix-9 esc's.

I need one of those to fly in my office. Tried to fly my .90 in there but man is my wife pissed now!

Thanks for the reply's, guys. Yeah, I fly figure 8's in my yard too. Mostly I fly 60's and 30 size nitro's, but couldn't pass up the offer to buy this little heli. Never considered electrics before, but now that I have one, I really like it. Just wish I could get the tail in order. I will check the 'who's still flying blade CP's' thread to see what everyone else is doing.

Thanks and good flying!
