Does Raptor Technique have a book out!? If not they need to have one. Here I had bad tail control from a last crash and thought I did everything right, wich was wrong, fear of loosing interest becuase of now real heli pilots around, couldn't figure out why the tail servo was revesed, etc., and it comes down to the belt being turned 1/4 the wrong way and screwing the whole she-bang up!

Hope that's it, but it would explain ALOT!

I had a similar problem with my 600N when I mounted my tail rotor backwards. I didn't even know it had a backwards.

well I couldnt figure out why I didn't have any tail control then it "appeared" my servo and blades were reversed, which of hinds site, it wasn't! It just wouldn't throw enough to compensate for the added torque.

Don't feel bad. I put some tail blades on backwards once. The model flew a bit strange but not enough to indicate something was wrong. I did feel like an a$$ when I finally noticed they were backwards. It happens!

tail rotor always turns upward into the main blades

A main rotor turning clockwise will have the tail turning counterclockwise ( your raptor )

same for the reverse

Replaced a tail servo with a new digital one that turns in the opposite direction.

This really confused the gyro. I'm glad I ran it up without the main blades and was holding onto the body/skids firmly.
Started waving it back and forth to see how the new servo was reacting, seems like it's not doing much, I'll wave it a bit more. Yank! the servo went to 100% and nearly twisted the heli 90deg in my grip before I stopped it and then the gyro went back to neutral.

Good thing I was holding it with the tail up and mainshaft out so I could see the servo action and gyro LEDs. I'm sure it would have busted things up if I had run it up on the ground with main blades in.

I would suggest Finless Bob's videos on helifreak. They are excellent tutortials on heli setups. He goes over alot of basic setups for a wide range of helis.
