I have the ar9000 rx with two sat`s on it when i walk 30 or so steps away from it and turn away from the rx i lose signal (lights all flash)with the bind button pressed in , is this normal ? the 7100 i have does not do it works fine.

why are you holding the bind button in? To my knowledge you don't do that, just walk real far away and make servo inputs and see if it responds.

The bind button cuts the power to half to range check ,iam asking this question because i lost(blades&boom) my 700 on sunday lose of signal it just went to fail safe.

The bind button does indeed need pressing in to do the range check as it reduces the TX power. 30 paces is about what is suggested as the minimum distance, but the flashing RX lights normally signify a low voltage episode. I would seriously check your receiver power and switch harness as the crash you mention appears to have been caused by the voltage on the RX dropping too low.

Just to be clear, flashing lights have nothing to do with loss of signal, only loss of voltage.

Manual on the DX7 for example clearly states to press the bind plug and hold when range testing. It also says to face the model and hold in the normal flying position and the you should still have full control at 30 paces(90 feet).

If you have any doubt, I would send it in to Horizon UK and ask them if they can test it for you.
