denying them healthcare doesn't solve anything.
There are already many govt heath programs specifically for the poor, ranging from subsidized insurance programs to free ride. 3 of the folks i grew up with here are on a program called Access. You have to fill out a ton of paper and endure a bunch of BS to qualify (this IS a govt program ) but it costs them nothing.

I myself had no insurance for several years, but if i had a problem i could have shown up at the emergency room and would have been given treatment. Just like the millions of ileagals do.

No one is denied anything. With all due respect, even the poorest here get help at least as good as yours. Probably better.

and BTW denying heathcare would in fact solve several problems.

You have to separate normal health care from emergency needs.

Just curious, why would yours be better ? In what way? I'm just interested, every time I've needed care I've gotten it and have been cured...in what way could it be better ??

Maybe that's why so many more in Europe die of serious illness? Someone took your blood pressure, gave you a lollipop and you are happy?
Research published in the European Journal of Cancer found that the overall five-year survival rate for colon cancer in Europe was 43%
Research published in the European Journal of Cancer found that the overall five-year survival rate for colon cancer in America was 62%
Must be doing something right.

Health care reform? Yes!!! I highly recommend it for you.

Kick the govt out and let the doctors do their job.

Uuh, Spiff, that's one just one illness. If I understand you correctly you say that the health care system in the US is better than any European based on the survival rates for 1/one single illness??

You didn't have much statistics in school did you? You can't seriously be judging the health system of some 20 different countries based on the statistics for 1/one illness?

Let's turn it around. The death rate for breast cancer for the US is abt 20/100.000 in the UK abt 25/100.000 and in China 6.2/100.000

So China's health care system is 3 times as good as yours then if we use your logic. I'll bet my last $ that China has public health care....Columbia and Mexico has almost as low rates, is this also proof their health system is better than ours/yours??

We score high on breast cancer, yet all women over 50 are offered free mammographic examinaton, which might be the reason that the death rate has been falling steadily or it might not. Certain regions in France has much more troath cancer than others, it has nothing to do with their health system, it's related to what the drink...

If you want to read more about cancer you can check out this:
http://www.cancer.org/downloads/STT...s_2007_rev2.pdf
There you will see the picture is somewhat more complex than what you try to portray

Was just the normal twisted propaganda huh?

Yes when you portray the figures for colon cancer only to be evidence that the complete health system is not working (or rather some 20+ systems as each country in Europe has it's own system), then that is either just playing dumb or you are trying to use it as propaganda.

Similar story for some other cancer forms yes and the opposite for others....

If your figures are proof that the European health systems are not working, then the figures for breast cancer is evidence you should adopt Chinas system as they have only 1/3 the deaths from breast cancer that you do. Your women are dying and you are in denial so that's ok?

Not funny at all Spiff and I'm not telling you what to do. I'm just saying you are using statistics in a way that shows that you either failed in maths or are trying to fool someone.

Maybe you should adopt our military system, a lot less of our soldiers die....

Oh really. And, who would defend freedom in the world today?

Your few thousand soldiers, or ours?

No offense to your brave ones. But, to compare your military to ours is just plain intellectual dishonesty. The reason you have the freedoms you have in the UK today is because of our soldiers and the Russians in WW II. Not yours.

You are welcome.

If not by survival rates, how would you like to rate your system then?

Quality of the lollipops?

Link for the Chinese data please. Might be fun to have one for North Korea as well for comparison and just as trustworthy perhaps?

Got an A's in diff-eqs and vector calc in college. A bit rusty by now, but i think i can still tell that 62% is better than 43% . It is isn't it?

There are somewhat more to health care than death/survival rates for cancer and you at least have to include all fatal illnesses and not only one single one as you did, if you want your statement to have any kind of validity.

North Korea is not in the paper and it was a paper from the American Cancer Society, funny hah? Figures from an american society that prove Chinas health care is 3 times as good as yours...

If you Google death rates and breast cancer I'm sure you'll find it.

Should we rate the systems by breast figures or colon figures you think? Personally I clearly prefer breasts to the colon, how 'bout you? Maybe it's all the silicone?? (Or sillycone as I prefer to name it...)

Oh, now you have 2 examples, should I find another one too ??
Did you miss the point totally or are you just peddling?

I'm sure you can find tenfold other examples, just as I can for the opposite. Heck lot's of them won't even have to do with the health system itself but with the fact that the problem might be discovered at different stages....maybe you guys just run to the doctor faster to get value for your money??

I think I will look for stats that doesn't involve having things showed up your behind?

Tintin,
I think that all that you've proven is that American women have at least three times more breast than Chinese women!

Good job!

Uh, thanks for the kind words (strange, name calling again...), do you really expect me not to comment when you first bring "proof" which is not useable to prove anything and then keep on bringing the same kind of "proof" after having had it pointed out? You avoid answering my questions and just post more of the same kind, do you really expect me to be "nice" ? If you don't want a snappy answer then don't come calling....

Btw, why did you leave this out of your quote?
just as I can for the opposite.

Baby, you are probably right on that part

Tell you what Pumpkin, you post 10 lethal ailments that are handled better in Europe or Canada (5 year survival rate or similar) and i will concede defeat, tell you you are smarter than I, and agree to not argue with you on any subject for 6 months.

If those 10 are using procedures or medicine not developed by a US company i won't post at all for 12 months, and will send you 200$

Post 2 and i will not argue for 1 month.

Reference links from any professional site acceptable without question. (anything but a hill billy blog counts )
