you guys are killing me. Now I'm going to have to get motivated and do some carb mods. I saw a cool pic of someone big bore moddding a ys50ST carb and putting it on a Novarossi 57. That would be pimp having a pressurized TT53 . I also have a 3 needle OS carb I could try to horse wrangle on one of my TT53's. Well that's hoping my one TT53 isn't tacod from when the idle needle fell out in flight during piro flips and started running rough and on TH/Auto got really lean .

I have toyed with the idea with KP but I also have been working on a two glow head as well. I don't own a 50 but this is making me want to get another. It would be no trouble to do it. I have some of the cline mods left. I would not trust a YS 50 carb. The deliver sytem is a problem with all the ones I have delt with. I am working on trying to find a reg system for the 50 size to make them like the cline system.

Honestly i dont think it is more power. It is just WAY more consistant when you are beating on it iam running 14 degrees pitch and i can place the heli were ever i want it and know the motor will be there.

Do i think it is more power then a 55 NO.But i do think it is very close and is definatley worth doing.

Quit typing i want to see some VIDEO

Oh My God. I got to watch this engine with the Mod fly yesterday. And you could hear it stayed soooo much more constant across theo board holding the power. Definately worth doing the OS carb mod. I was waaaay impressed. I'm into 90s now but if I ever do a 50 again, I will def be all over the TT with the OS mod

TMoore....just think what a Supertiger 3000 carb would do I used to run the TT61 w/ this plank carb and it made all the difference. Stock carb wouldn't even transition to hover!

I was telling KP yesterday about my ST 3000 but I put a 60L carb on it about 8 yrs ago and it made it a great engine. It is amazing how some of the worst running motors come alive when you put the right combo on them!

I will keep posted about progress on the double glow head and pump system!

How much material do you take off on the OS carb that fits into the adapter plate?

How thick is adapter plate?

I'm thinking of having a friend of mine machine some of these spacers up. Would be about $20 each if anyone is interested I can give you his email.
ps if the mods feel this post violates a rule, please just delete my post. I'm sorry in that case.

The plate itself is 5mm thick. The carb needs to be around 7mm long on the side that fits into the engine but this will depend on whether or not you use a counter bore for the o-ring to fit into.

we got some work done tonight on our version of an adapter plate

still have to finish it off, but at least it's started. Should have a couple ready to test for the weekend.

also thinking about making an adapter plate for a YS50ST carb lol. A pressurized TT53 might be fun to play with.

anywho here are some pics

That will be tough to do. The YS 50 st already has enough problems delivering enough fuel for it. It is very hard to get it right. You would be better off to make up a pump system (cline type) to put on the O.S. carb. I am working on making such. The YS carb has hads problems on the 50 and would be tought to get right. I would hate to see someone loose an engine for that reason. It only takes a little leaning and boom!

The Cline works just like the YS system as there is no pump on either.
