Back to square ONE!
Well sort of....
I Dremeled the frame to fit the Hitec 5245s I got with the kit, and they won't fit! These servos are to deep, and will hit the main shaft. The aileron servos are just a couple mm from touching when they are installed, and spacing them out to make room for the main shaft, will throw off the swash geometry to much. This has been very frustrating, to say the least.
So I'll be sending my servos back to RH, and hopefully getting the HS5085MGs back instead. I also need to order a new Hitec frameset, as I pretty much ruined the last Hitec frame by modifying to fit the wrong servos. Other than that, and waiting on my tail servo to come back from Horizon, everything else is pretty much ready to go.
All the ball raced parts are installed on the head and tail, linkages are all built, everthing looked great before I butchered the frames. I do have to say, the fit and finish, and overall quality of Mikado, is fairly impressive so far.
So anyways, I guess I'll look at this first part of my build as practice. Lucky for me, I usually learn pretty quick from this kind of thing, and won't soon repeat these mistakes. I hope!
I'm really excited to get this heli in the air!!
