Altec-
Version one was the original (out of the gate so to speak), not sarcastic, but it was the first. This version had no "extra menus" that allowed adjustments above and beyond. Version one was before the G-View,so all the adjustments had to be done using the red/green light on the unit to set parameters.

Version two came out with the introduction of the new "extra menu" that allowed the user to tap into things like gain percentages, Throttle low percentage and a 3D low throttle percentage. To my knowledge version two was the test bed for the G-View display to allow access beyond using the flashing light system.

Now version three, is the the newest release with two extra menus available for the person setting up to now do things like adjust fast gain, sum gain, derive gain and derive response settings.
The newest one out is the cutting edge of the ATG's and with the G-View the pilot can access the extra menus. Thus enabling the pilot to tune his governor/limiter modes to personal choice.
However for field adjustments you can still use the old method of the flashing red/green system to make subtle changes.... G-view is the way though.

It is highly recommended that before changes are made in the extra menu that you contact a service rep at Curtis Youngblood and discuss it.

I fly all of the Curtis Youngblood pieces, from Radix SB's, MP-5, MP-5SB, MP-6, ATG3, Solid G...
My helo flies like it's on rails....

I may/may not be dead correct on the changes between generations/versions but this is to best of my knowledge and product purchase and time on the phone getting things sorted out as I learned the in's/out's of the set ups...

Hope info helps..

Thanks for the info. I wanted to check as someone told me the software was the same on all 3. I fly version 3 and I've been having small problems with it. I'm about to send it in. As for cy techs telling you about the extra menus, they prefer not to. They tell you not to change those at all. They wouldn't even tell me what the different stuff in the menu meant in the extra menus.

Call CY and ask for Brian..
He will lead you down the right path...
Most of the problems with the governor/limiter ATG3 is confusion or incorrect settings.
(not saying this is your case or situation buddy)

I would explain more but this is all I will say on "Open" internet.
Send me a PM if interested...

The G-View works in all 3 versions of the ATG. They do have MOST of the same programming.

V1- gov only or limiter only, cant run both
V2- same as above except you can run limiter or gov for different Idle up conditions

V3 same as V2. can also run without gain wire for RPMs if so desired. Not really sure if it has more new features or not, other than new models pre-programed.

The guys at CY will tell you about changing parameters ONLY if they feel its really needed. They dont give the info out to just anyone and I am only guessing as to the reason why but here goes.
If you have a problem and start messing with all the parameters it makes it MUCH harder on them to help you diagnose what realy needs to be changed. If it is at baseline settings and doing certain things they have the knowledge of their product to know exactly what needs to be done to fix the issue.

The V3 has a 1:1 ratio so it can be used in an electric heli. Put the magnet in the main gear, works great and head speed changes are easy by changing the end points on whatever channel you plug it in. I'm not positive, but I think Curtis is using it in his new Rave 90 FAI machine. The V3 works as good or maybe better than the CC HV ESC governor.

Yours only gets off the ground when its hit by a bus!

Mine like to fly so much that they hover around the house.

I never used a governor for electric before. I have been thinking of using the built in ones on the esc, but never got around to setting one up.

No wonder you are having problems getting off the ground. That's the throttle hold switch. Perhaps you should let my cat fly the heli for you. She can't fly it any worse! LOL!
