ok guys, i know this has been discussed like a million times.
but i cant read that much and remember it all.
so im asking this question because im broke, sold every replacement electrical part like gy401,motor/esc, and anything else i had for crash parts.
so here it is, im now useing the gy48v gyro from helidirect with poor results. ofcourse i know its a small step above the g110 my heli came with, but its all i have left.
so im wondering sense the price of gyro`s are comeing down and i can find some good gyro`s used, if i had only a 100 bucks for a gyro what would be something to look at.
i had the gy401 and with my shoudy flying im sure it would have went alittle ways with me.
but im looking for something that is maybe better and i wont out grow in a year or two.

any suggestion`s would help in my dessision.

Look for a used 770 gyro..made by JR and is just as good as as some of the best on the market, way ahead of the 401...you can prabably make an offer of $100 on some of them and get it.

Ive seen a few 401s going for 75-85 bucks, not gonna find a better deal than that. BTW I fly a 7703d as well its a great gyro but if you can pickup a 401 for $80, itll take you a very long way untill you out fly it.

i had the gy401, if i have to i will get another, i was just hopeing someone had something better or equal to its performance to mention that i should look at.

im really looking for something as good or better but different

it`ll probaly be a few months anyway before i can afford another gyro.
heck by then it`ll be winter, so i`ll have to set it up inside.

how is the logitec 2100? anyone use this with good results

thanks for the replies guy`s, truely appreciated.
i`ll keep an eye out for say the JR 770 or even the align 750
im thinking the logitech 6100 combo will be out of my price range right now.
actually their all out of my price range right now LOL.
but hopefully when i have a few dollars i can get something better than the gy48v i have now.
the gy48v is ok at best, but really lacks in performance. i shouldnt have sold the gy401, but i needed money to keep flying.
i wont waste the money on the clones anymore, their just not up to the task required for a 450 class heli. they may work fine on the bigger slower head speed birds, but im running a high head speed which ofcourse turns the tail faster.

so again thank you for the replies.

well guys i got some good news today. after being laidoff for like 7 months, i start a new job tomorrow.
granted it doesnt pay alot, but its something.
so in a few weeks i`ll start looking for a new gyro for my heli.

now i can get a new gy401 off ebay for $119 shipped, or a new JR 770 for $189.
i`ll look for the align 750 in a few and see what i can find.
as much as im ready for something different than the gy401, i may have to get another purely on finacial reason`s.
i have thought hard between new and used, im leaning towards new just for GP and knowing i can have it serviced if needed.

again thanks for all your inputs and i`ll let you know which gyro i end up with.

If you are gonna spend 190 bucks on a gyro then I wouldnt get the 770. There is far better gyros out there. You cant beat the Mini G. Especially for the money. Solid G and Spartan would also be good choices.

Dude, there is nothing wrong with the JR G770 3D..Larry if you don't plan on going nitro anytime soon then the LT2100 will work awesome on your 400 and can't beat the price http://www.heliproz.com/prodinfo.asp?number=138520 .You'll be happy with any of them Gyro's you listed

yeah lon i was looking at the 2100t, i only know 1badair that use`s it.
the 370 combo is way out of my price range, no way my girl will let me go that route. she doesnt like when i spend 100 bucks i`d hate to see how she`ll blow on a $200 plus purchase.

i have been eyeing the logitech tho, and for $109 combo it`s looking better every day LOL.

i know the gy401`s performance, i just want something BETTER but still with in my means.

i`ll stu onit for a week or two, and makesure this job is going to last a little while before i start spending freely again.
this heli is what put me in the poor house to begain with LOL and its a very lonely house at that.

the reason i was looking at new is simply because my gy401 was purchased use, and because i didnt have the original reciept futaba was going to charge me for a maintance check and or repair if needed. i didnt have money for that.
so if i go new i`ll have atleast a year warenty for defects or nonuser failures.
anyway guy`s this purchase isnt chesled in stone yet, so i may find something used i just cant pass up.
i wish i had money to just buy whatever whenever i want again, that`s been awhile back. untill i have these means again im very very limited on the whats and where`s.
i`ll diffenetlly keep all these suggestion`s in mind when the time come`s.
thank you for all your input`s.

ok one more question.
i have a freind thats haveing an issue with his gy401, he`s saying that after about 6 minutes of flight, he gets a tail jerk.
say`s its just the once then the tail acts like it never happened, but it happen`s on every battery.
does anyone have a thought on this?

ok so i should get my first check friday, its looking like i`ll get the 2100t combo. its cheap for a $109 and have found a few local`s useing it.
i hope its not a waste of money, but time will tell.

next week i`ll go for one more charger and some crash parts.

i think my next purchase after charger will be a heli kit, leaning towards the flasher pe but the hk450 could also be a possible.
if im lucky and the job holds out i`ll look into a t-rex complete kit for like just under 500 buck`s, still cant say 100% on that tho. i need life things as well sometime in all this heli buying&flying thing.

just so you know, the 2100 is about the same as a 401 except smaller..same holding power, slightly better piro consistancy....if your looking for something that holds better than the 401 dont get the 2100.
