lol no it was not like that
no lathes just a man on his scooter I have had many people stop by when I have been doing stuff on my front lawn and it didn't bother me, this guy was just being weird and annoying, guess you had to be there, he was in my opinion over interested in my gear

Old Geezer
As unnerving as it was the old bloke was just wanting company and he in his younger days, as he is now, is an extrovert rather than an introvert
and feels that you were an approachable person. Remember - as sure as we pay taxes - we all grow old and it will be nice to be able to talk to someone down the street and relieve the boredom of being stuck in a mobility scooter. Maybe you could look at it from the point of view that you actually made a difference to an mans life and hope that someone might do the same for you when you reach his age.

Cheers, Rob

Same here.

Since I moved to a smaller town and have no flying clubs around, I have been flying inside my own property. Cool as that is, I do miss the RC chat with fellow fliers. Sometimes people stop by my fence and look, and I in no way get upset by that, quite to the contrary.

Unfortunately between flying, noticing they are there, landing and shutting down, they have so far shied away and left before I had the chance to talk. I'd like to invite them in, have them take a closer look at the helis and maybe get some neighbor interested in the hobby.

I thought we were suppost to respect our elders. He may have just been a lonely old man needing company. I mean if he stole one of your birds I think you could have caught him on that scooter!

My biggest annoyance are "Air Hogs". Folks with very large 3D planes that do their stuff over on our end of the field virtually preventing us heli flyers from doing anything beyond hovering. Don't get me wrong, I really like to watch the megabuck planes do their stuff but don't shove it down my throat. Old dudes with overly ambitious curiousity I can deal with. People who think they own the place because they can afford to fly an $8000+ plane tend to burn my aZZ

One more thing to piss and moan about. Plankers that fly over the pit erea. One day it will be bad.

After reading this thread I think you're overreacting. He was just asking questions. You should know people love asking questions about RC helis..."How high, how much $, etc..."

Time to get a deeper concealed holster pal.

nope

I am normally ok with people stopping while I am flying, if someone came into your house without asking you would feel uneasy, even though it was the garage that was what it was like, remember the chap followed me from the van to inside my garage, staying there while I made several trips back out to the van to get the gear putting it away, perhaps someone else it wouldnt bother me I really don't know
