Wis. dealer sold gun extras to health club shooter

GREEN BAY, Wis. - An online weapons dealer who sold guns and accessories to those who carried out massacres at Virginia Tech and Northern Illinois University also sold accessories to a man who killed three women and wounded nine other people at a Pittsburgh-area health club.

TGSCOM Inc. sold a Glock Magloader and a Glock Factory Magazine to 48-year-old George Sodini for $46 in April 2008, company president Eric Thompson said.

It was not immediately clear if Sodini used the accessories during his attack on a health club in Collier Township, Pa., on Tuesday. Sodini fatally shot himself after opening fire on a weekly Latin dance aerobics class.

TGSCOM, based in Green Bay, also sold guns and accessories to the shooters in the two university shootings, Seung-Hui Cho, who killed 32 people at Virginia Tech in 2007, and Steven Kazmierczak, who killed five students and wounded 18 others before committing suicide at Northern Illinois University in 2008.

In a statement to the Green Bay Press-Gazette on Thursday, Thompson called Sodini a "socially stunted mad man." He said Tuesday's attack shows police are too slow to respond to emergencies and underscores the need for people to protect themselves. He says police carry guns because they realize they have to protect themselves, but doesn't explicitly say people need guns.

Thompson told The Associated Press by phone that it's unfortunate "crazies and mad men catch all the news" but they could just as well shop at Wal-Mart.

If you really want to save lives... Ban cigarettes, ban alcohol, and ban pools.

And as for this one store.... You still think the mag loader and the mag made the guy do it?

I believe he was making a joke Ron. He doesn't really want to ban shopping, though I could be wrong.

Lets ask him!

@Spaceman: You don't really want to ban shopping do you?
And as for this one store.... You still think the mag loader and the mag made the guy do it?
Who said anything about that?

You seem to think that the shop is somehow evil for selling items that a bad person used to do bad things.

Guns don't kill people. Mags and mag loaders don't kill people. Items don't kill people. Stores do not encourage killing people.

Your whole argument is flawed.

Cho's weapons were bought legally even with a waiting period and a 30 day waiting period. Fact is that if the justice system, the collage, or the mental health system of VA had done their job, just ONE of the three, then he would not have been able to buy anything.

Blaming the store for these acts when the followed the law would be like blaming the car dealership that sold the car that the drunk drove and killed someone.... Just makes zero sense.

I do? Its amazing how you can glean all that out of a post.

What argument would that be? Are you talking to Spaceman? I don't remember having an argument.

Really?
Blaming the store for these acts when the followed the law would be like blaming the car dealership that sold the car that the drunk drove and killed someone.... Just makes zero sense.
Who's blaming the store again? Maybe if you quoted the post you are replying to I'd know what you were on about.

You clearly are.. Otherwise you would not have copied and pasted this post.

Maybe you should explain EXACTLY why you pointed this ,"Birds of a feather, apparently shop together" out then.

Why would the store where some guys *legally* bought some stuff matter? It would be like trying to blame the car dealership for the drunk driver since he bought the car from them.

Because its fun.

Even more frankly... With all the lefty bashing and baiting that goes on here, someone is going to respond. Considering some of the past responders from the left, we should consider ourselves blessed

Besides, bad things happen when a group of people get too isolationist.

I thought the news article was interesting. I assigned no blame to anyone. You on the other hand, read into it what you wanted, then expected me to defend the position you assigned me.
Maybe you should explain EXACTLY why you pointed this ,"Birds of a feather, apparently shop together" out then.
Demanding an explanation? Who appointed you the RR Hall Monitor again? But if you insist, I was looking for a catchy title to an interesting story.

Well, if 3 different guys all went to the same dealership and bought cars that they each then used to commit the mass murder of dozens of innocent people within the span of a couple of years then yes, I would find it an interesting parallel.
But I wouldn't necessarily hold it against the car dealer.

And yet you did hold it against the gun shop.... that just proves my point and makes you look silly again.

Really, debating you is getting easier and easier, you just continue to hurt your own position time after time.

And I thought you claiming to be an expert on a document that you later admitted to never reading was bad... Now you are proving that you only hold certain types of merchants accountable for the actions of the people they sell to.

This part of your copy/paste was interesting....

"He said Tuesday's attack shows police are too slow to respond to emergencies and underscores the need for people to protect themselves."
