Yes to arm and your first question about stick position. I just set a straight line like this / for pitch in the radio and on the 50 run on the outer hole of the colective servo and have the arm and ball match the throw using atv's with the pitch tray on the raptor. When said and done at half stick on the radio the arm should be about level and you have equal ammount of throw on the pitch tray.
Use SUBTRIM if any at all to get servo arms perfectly straight but first turn the servo arms round different ways on the splines to find the holes that are the most square and 90 to what they are for. Like for instance the aileron servo looking like a cross. Leave the radio at half stick on pitch then go for a straight up arm for the elevator servo arm and adjust the rods to the 2 plastic pivoting grey arms to get the swash level fore and aft and the aileron rods off the aileron triangles to get the swash level left to right then work your way on up the mixer arms above the swashplate and then on up the head till all is fairly level and 90% and you should pretty much have 0% for pitch at half stick at give or take a 1/2 degree either way + or -sometimes.
Now whatever you have for pitch at full low and high stick (IE. =and -14 or+ and -12) if you want to lower it I use the pitch ATV on both top and bottom of the pitch (150% or 120% or 100%) to lower it but the pitch curve in the radio remains linear and a straight line so when you want more or less just bump up or down the pitch ATV's again so no messing with anything else to get whatever ammount you want on both ends and the middle remains where it originally was and doen't change like it would if you tried to use pitch curves instead to do the same thing.
Also something unique on the Raptor frames is some hash marks on one side that line up with the pitch rocker arm and they are in the manual one is 0% 2 are for 10% top and bottom and one is for I believe 12% for throttle hold but these were put there years ago before the modern higher 12-14% pitches everyone runs for pop doing 3D.
