Has anyone had any issues with the plastic tail case? And...for those who upgraded to the metal tail was easy to install. It doesn't appear come with any instructions.

I did the upgrade to the metal tail and did not have any trouble figuring out how to put it together. It's pretty easy.
I also did the metal pulley at the same time.
My only gripe with the plastic tail was I could not get it tight enough on the boom to stay put. It wanted to twist and not stay straight.

I had the guide pully freeze up after the 5th flight on my heli and wore thru to the bearing, started the flight then all of a sudden the tail started to drift bad, so I landed to check it out and found the problem. I really like the way this heli flies, but so far it seems to keep getting issues after a few flights, at least mine does, I read on here some people dont have any issues where I am getting most of the problems that are on this forum, but what the heck, for 400 bucks, I bought 2 of them one for parts, after I get the issues worked out it will be a great heli.

hi
i have both. and prefer the plastic tail case. i had the bearings blow out on the metal one. the metal one is a lot harder to work on with a lot of parts. the plastic one has larger bearings ,bolts together easy . all i used on it was a metal guide pulley. i'll fly it till it breaks.

There is a replacement tail case
AMainHobbies sent me unsolicited tail cases for the machines I bought. Apparently there were some units getting stress cracks. I have not installed them yet because my tail cases that came with the machimes are fine.
